ok. great! I didn't want to step on your toes and have your transfer all of these to me if you had interest in them. Thank you soooo much for taking these pictures. Now, I am able to update these until the weather warms up and I can go visit the cemetery myself.

I thought you would be interested to know the source of the information on Jerome Steves' memorial #42400087. It comes not from a newspaper but from the book "History of Dunn County, Wisconsin" (published in 1925) page 261. It continues onto page 262:
"Mr. Steves was married in January, 1860, at Louisville, Dunn County, to Miss Matilda Smith, the daughter of Daniel and Mary Smith. She was born May 15, 1842, at Driftwood, Penn., and came in 1856 with her parents to Louisville, where she spent the remainder of her life. She passed away Dec. 21, 1901. She was an earnest christian, quietly living her religion before the world and in her home. She was a devoted wife and mother and the poor and neglected ever found in her a friend. This family was blessed with five children, of whom Fred W., of Louisville and Dr. Bert J. Steves of Menomonie are now living."
Sons Bert and Fred also have biographical sketches in the preceeding pages and there is a photo of Jerome in the book on page 261. You have already uploaded a fine photo of Jerome so I will not add the one from the book unless requested. Feel free to add the above information to his bio with a note of the corrected source.

I left a message with the owner of the photo on my duplicate memorial and will wait a few days and then delete my memorial. Thank you.

This is a tricky one. I created the memorial but the photo was posted by someone else. It wouldn't be right for me to transfer this photo to the original so I'm going to see if the other person will transfer it and then I'll delete my memorial. Thank you.

All burials entered per cemetery records. Mistakes happen with old records, names misspelled or reversed or simply wrong, dates wrong, etc.
We are all volunteers, trying to do acts of kindness in order to help others who are looking for their family/friends on this website. Frankly, I was surprised at the tone of your first email re Neta Bassett. No one is trying to outdo someone else or slight them by creating a duplicate memorial. These things happen, and the site's search engine isn't infallible. Please try to treat others with grace, imagining yourself in their shoes. We are all doing the best that we can.

Sorry about the medical treatments he is going through. I sure hope everything will be fine!! I will send you my address for the information. I can send you hard copy information as well! Thank you so much!! I truly love putting it all together! Lady at DAR said I was really lucky because of all the family information and documentation that I have. She said other members have to jump through hoops to prove their relationship to a Revolutionary soldier.

So you live in the south? Must be beautiful! I've always liked those areas when I've been there! The info I have (bible records) I don't think there is a way to source them. I know they are verified by DAR which is pretty strict so I hope that would be good enough. They are really great to look at if you get a chance! I'll send them to you either way. I know one of them is bible records from a bible given as a gift to Ella Steves Love. Ella never had children so she gave the bible as a gift to my grandmother so my grandmother still has the bible.

|Bobbie Krueger||RE: Steves,Joshua St & Henry Howard|
I really appreciate you transferring Henry Howard Steves to me! That is fine about retaining Joshua Steves page since you are a descendent too. But yes, I do have some things to add and will do that with the edit. Joshua Stuart Steves was the son of a Revolutionary soldier and that should be posted on there so if anyone is interested in joining DAR they know to look and connect the dots. Such a great program and if a person has kids, they offer scholarships. I also have some great bible records that may of be interest.....not sure. The bible was a gift to Ella Steves Love from her mother on her 18th birthday in 1872. While doing my DAR application, I found some older bible records belonging to the Steves family in the 1700's/early 1800's. Amazing how many Revolutionary soldiers there were in the family. Quite incredible! If you ever do decide to transfer the page, please keep me in mind!!
One last question.......where are you located? I know that Joshua Stuart Steves and Henry Howard Steves are all buried in Dunn County, Wi. And my branch of the family hasn't gotten too far from there. Wondering about your's.

Correction. Henry Howard Steves was my great, great, great grandpa and Joshua Stuart Steves was my great, great, great, great grandpa. I would love to have them, their wives, and other family members transferred to me if you would be okay with that.

If you don't mind I would prefer to keep this memorial for now. I will do any updates you would suggest. Col Lampley was the commander of the unit some of my relatives fought in.
I got the information about him being buried in this cemetery from a transcript of the headstones there.
