Permission to Use your photos
First of all Lorna, let me Congratulate you on your wonderful job of additions and linking of family member Memorials! I am in awe of how much detail you have put into it! Are you related to any of the Rock family??
Secondly I would love to have your permission to use your photos in my family tree files. I would most definitely give you photo credit for each one used.
Lastly, I have a trip to the Brodhagen area on my Bucket list as I would love to see my ancestors graves in person and see where you have put in so many hours!
Thank you again for all your efforts on Find A Grave!!

Elma Cemetery in Perth
Your wonderful work on the Code family's tall 4-sided stone seems to be missing a photo of the 4th side.

There's the parents on one side, and a pair of children on each of two other sides. Was there anything or anybody on the 4th side?

(1 side = Edward #94895327 and sister Minnie, 2 side = Elizabeth & sister Annie #94894964 3 side = their parents)

I some times have overlooked even the back of a stone, so I know how easy it is. Then there's the oops not getting a transcription at the very bottom of a stone now half buried in the soil...LOL

Charles Wesley Cosens Sr. & Ann (Goodall) Cosens
Hi Lorna, I wanted to thank you for all your hard work creating pages and taking pictures for the Cosens family. Charles and Ann are my maternal Grandparents six generations back from me. I would not known who they were, let alone where their final resting places are with pictures of grave markers. God Bless and thanks again, James Robinson

Keith Knoke
RE: Knoke Family
Yes, Lorna that is the family. Henry Sr. is the father, Henry Jr. is one of the four siblings

Henry Sr. is the one who died in 1860. What church were they members of?

For what its worth, Im working with a historian in Hammenstedt Germany on the families of the 32 emigrants (they all came from Hammenstedt, a small farming community in central Germany of about 300 people or so. Let me know if you are interested in that research, I would be happy to share it with you.

Knoke Family
Hello Lorna, I was wondering if I can ask you a question. My family, the Knoke's Harborth's, Ronnenbergs etc were early pioneers of Perth County, Arriving in the summer of 1847. My Third great grandfather Heinrich Knoke died Logan township in 1860. I have been unable to find a stone for him or for that matter what church they belonged to. I know it was a Lutheran Church and that is about it. Have you ever seen any gravestones or church book entries for the Knoke family? Sometimes spelled Knoka, or Kanoke. Henrichs son August and his family lived in Canada for quite some time. The rest of the family moved to Iowa in the spring of 1875.

Thank you and best Regards

Keith

Lyle Detwiller
Alexander Cambell/Marion Morrison
Ms. McMahon,
I am trying to locate one of long lost ancestors.
The names are Alexander Campbell married to Marion Morrison. In a letter written many years ago by Marion Detwiller Anhorn. Marion writes this couple came to North America in 1828. her letter mentions the names of two children: Marion Campbell b. abt 1812 and her brother names Traford or Treford. Both Marion and Treford/Traford lived in Perth Co., Ontario Canada. Marion Campbell Detwiller married Christian Detwiller/Dettweiler. They first lived near Hespeler, Waterloo Co., Ontario, Canada, had their first three children there and then in about 1848-1850., moved to Perth Co., Ontario, Canada. The children of the Christian Detwiller/Marion Campbell union are well documented. Christian Detwiller died there and was buried in St. Marys Cemetery, St. Marys, Perth Co., Ontario, Canada. I have not found where Marion Campbell was buried. A search of the records at the Stratford, Ontario Genealogy Library shows several Alexander Campbells and one Traford Campbell living in Perth County in the same time frame but I have not been able to find evidence of a family connection.

In your own research, have you come across any family records of an Alexander Campbell married to a Marion Morrison, possibly living in Perth Co., Ontario, Canada? They may have been born and married in Scotland. I have no birth or death dates for this couple but their daughter Marion Campbell was reported as being born in October 14, 1812. One of the records I have seen for Marion Campbell gives her first name as Mary Ann Campbell. It was a marriage record in Waterloo Co., Ontario, Canada.

Thank you and have a Merry Christmas,

Porterfield Line
Are you related to the Porterfield line? I am from the Hood line, but am researching Mary Hood who married Robert Porterfield on Jan. 24, 1893, Howick, Huron, Ontario. From what I could find out, Robert's parents were John and Charlotte Porterfield but I can't seem to find them on findagrave.

RE: Jessie Webster NOVICE/ROBERTSON/HAMILTON
Hi Lorna
Thanks for the data re Jessie Webster ROBERTSON. I also have her as Jessie W NOVICE on a marriage registration to John HAMILTON in Elma, Ontario. I will upload the reg (source: Ancestry.com). She is listed on that site as Jessie (Jane/Jannet) MOVICE/NOICE. She married William ROBERTSON and after his death she married John HAMILTON. Does this fit with what you know of her? I found a marriage registration for her son George Robertson to Margaret INGLIS in Elma. His mother's maiden name is recorded as NOVY. Yet another variation.
Thanks again for the data on Jessie.
Cheers
Rob

Jessie Webster NOVICE/ROBERTSON/HAMILTON
I have John HAMILTON (1810-1887) born in Dumfriesshire & died in Elma, Ontario. After a long marriage to Joan BRYDON (c1809-1879, buried at Elma), he married Jessie Webster NOVICE in Elma on 27 Dec 1883 at 74 years of age. Witnesses at the wedding of John & Jessie were her son Alexander ROBERTSON (1859-1888) & Sarah ERSKINE (relative of her deceased husband, William Robertson, 1822-1878, buried in Elma). Son Alexander married Betsy Oliver ERSKINE (c1858-1932).
Jessie died 28 Oct 1892 & was buried as ROBERTSON. It is noted (on findagrave.com)that there was some conjecture re her birth year on the death certificate. This information may affect the relationships in my family tree. Am I able to access the death registration you refer to, as I have been unable to find a death registration for Jessie as NOVICE, ROBERTSON or HAMILTON on any site.
Hope you can help me with this issue.
Best regards
Rob Henderson

Jacob Schaub Family
Hi Lorna,
I'm not well versed as to the ins and outs of how this site works so forgive me. Just happened to come upon this. I am a distant relative of the Jacob Schaub family and have been trying to find information on them forever. Can you tell me what church I might contact regarding them or do you have any other information on Jacob, Agnes, Michael, Lucy or Emma? I have reason to believe Emma may have been a school teacher. Any information would be appreciated. The family originated from Perth County, Ontario, and I do have information for anyone else interested in what I might provide. Thank you!
