Thanks. Do you go to any of the smaller cemeteries around there too? I also saw where you have a photo request for Elijay, GA same a me. I may go there soon just to find a bunch of my husbands family so let me know if you have any others too. Maria

RE: Thomas Monroe Phillips
Thank you for that information. It WILL be very helpful. By the way, I love the picture of your poodle. Reminds me of one we used to have -- I think it was considered a miniature (not too big, but not one of those really tiny dogs). It was chocolate brown, and after the kids were off to college, it definitely became my mother's dog. If she was staying up too late watching TV, Nickie would start to bite the hem of her robe, to encourage her to go to bed. He used to sleep at the foot of her bed, so I guess he thought he couldn't go to sleep before she did. I can't have a dog or cat now -- my husband is extremely allergic to both -- so I try to enjoy my friends' whenever I can.

Thanks again for your help.

Thank you for the photos and for adding the obits I didn't have. I feel sad that Thomas and Olive don't have markers. I am thinking of calling the cemetery to see if I could order one for them that wasn't too expensive. Uncle Tom died after a long battle with cancer. There probably wasn't any money.

RE: Elizabeth (Dalton) Howard
No, that's not Elizabeth Dalton Howard. That's her neice.

Elizabeth Dalton Howard was born abt 1847 in Cherokee AL to William Henry Dalton abt 1820 GA.

William shows up in the 1850 Cherokee, AL census with a three year old daughter Harriet Elizabeth Dalton. He was listed as a loafer in the home of William W Allison and wife Mary Lambert Allison. Also living in the home was John Lambert, wife and daughter Martha born 1834 AL.

William marries Martha Lambert and continues to live in Cherokee, AL thru the 1880 Census.

Elizabeth Dalton marries Edward Thomas Howard about 1864. They live in Polk, GA until 1880 and are in Cherokee, AL. Then they move to Etowah, AL.

Thank You
