Josephine Howard Wilson
Thank you for sending the correction. However, the Find A Grave number you sent me was for John Howard. I did a search for Josephine Wilson and found the one I believe it is, will you check and confirm that I have added the correct J. Wilson as the spouse of John Howard?

Joseph Oscar Herring/Oakwood
You photographed Joseph Oscar Herring sometime back for me and I really appreciate it. Do you remember if he had a wife that was buried with him. I have his wife as being Mary Lucy Herring (maiden name Herring) and when I went to the Oakwood Cemetery website, I found a Lucy and a Mary that are buried in Spring Section, Division U, Lot 3, but in plots that are not next to him. I dont know if there maybe children buried near them or what. I hate to enter his wife without knowing for sure she is there, and how they have her listed. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Joseph is Find A Grave #48251200.

Bob Crayton
RE: Adolphus C. Crayton
THANKS, you've been a MAJOR part in identifying our ancestors and couldn't have done without YOU!!

The dates that I have on my Gr8-Grandfather Joseph Crayton is he wuz born Oct 1854 in Chatham County, NC and he died 1 Nov 1932 in Greensboro, NC. So it would be very possible that he wuz buried at Oakwood Cemetery?

Joseph had 3 brothers, John Wesley, William A. and George Washington Crayton; and 2 sisters, Mary C. (born abt 1843) and Elizabeth Betsy (1846-1929). Joseph had a brother and a son and a nephew named John Wesley which had made it very interesting when researching them because I wasn't sure at the time which one I'd found... Grandpa JWC or Gr-Uncle JWC or cousin JWC??

We know that George and his family are mostly buried in Guilford County. William A. Crayton (26 Jan 1852-3 Sep 1913) died in Wake County, NC. (Gr-Uncle) John Wesley (Sep 1848-16 Apr 1923) died in Burlington, Alamance County, NC.

Adolphus C. wuz the oldest of 9 children of William A. Crayton and Mary Jane Carso (4 Aug 1863-19 Jul 1914).

Adolphus C. *
John Wesley Crayton (9 May 1884-16 Dec 1937) *
Lula Crayton (Aug 1885- )
Dora Crayton (31 Aug 1888-13 Aug 1925) *
Vallie Lee (Crayton) Nipper (27 Oct 1890-8 Feb 1951)
Suda Crayton (Jan 1892- )
Dorsu Crayton (14 May 1896-21 Apr 1917) *
James C. Crayton *
Delma Crayton (1903-3 Jan 1960)

* died in Raleigh, Wake, NC

THANKS, again!!!

RE: James Charles
YES, we've just CONFIRMED he is FAMILY!!! : )
We are first cousins 2x removed... his father, William A. Crayton (1852-1913) is my Gr8-Grandfather Joseph Crayton (1854-1932) brother. Their father, Gr8-Gr8-Grandfather, is Robert "Bob" Chatham Crayton (1806-1865). He also had a son named George Washington Crayton (1857-1935).

THANKS AGAIN for alerting me James' gravemarker!!
