RE: Woolsey stones Union Cemetery
I'm sure the weather is a stopper. The sun is out & the ice is melting.
Suppose to snow tonight or tomorrow ..
My computer is in the shop. It is repaired but I'm getting a backup driver . Too much stuff to lose.
Not worried abt the pictures. DAR will accept Find AGrave.
Are you a Millsap or strictly a Woolsey?
I'm a Millsap, Woolsey, Houts, Handley plus others ..these are just my mother's side ..
Can't go on my Dad's side because I can't even get a birth certificate needless to say a death certificate ..My dad's mother is a mystery. Once I find out if I am accepted as a DAR, I'll see where it takes me.
Maybe I'll go pre-1701. I do have maybe 3 lines . One a Houts, a Millsap & possibly a Woolsey.
I guess that's all for now
Later

RE: Woolsey stones Union Cemetery
Dear cuz
I spoke with the author of Gone But Not Forgotten ..
I told her abt the mess Union was. The guy that is mowing has family there.
Her name is Delores Harrington & is the director of Atchison County Historical. She lost her husband & is writing another book, like a sequel to the first book.
It is being type set & she doesn't know when it will be finished .
You'll like this part ...
She is getting a pkg of articles & pictures ready to send me.
Would you like a copy when I get them??
I went to a funeral today but I didn't want to walk in the snow...
Imagine that ☃
Anyway just wanted to get back with you

Oh by the way ..could you check on the Hamburg Cemetery for stones of ANY Houts.. Should be several..
I know it's cold & you probably have snow ..so when you get a chance could you take some pictures ??

I think it would be great if we ALL(cousins) had s reunion in Atchison County. Since our ancestors came from that part of MO...what do you think ?? We could tour the historical in Tarkio. There would be Millsap, Woolsey, Houts, Faubion to name s few

RE: Woolsey stones Union Cemetery
Ancestry wants u to post only the pic u take. I've taken many pics that show up as "their" pics.
You of for them, post to Tillie's gallery @& Elsie's.
Sorry to make u older than u r.
Since u r only 36 & I'm 63 took awhile to sink in. So u r young enough to be my daughter . My son is 40. He could care less abt his ancestors, my mom is the same.

RE: Woolsey stones Union Cemetery
Yes, you are my cousin....
My mother remembers the Hines...
When I was about 10, we stopped in Hamburg for the night. I do not know who, but cousins.
My Heppie married Jeremiah Clement Laird Valandingham Houts. My grandmother, Pearl, was their first child.
The lady who is assisting me into DAR suggested I go the other direction. 1600-1701. I believe the Woolseys fit, the Houts and the Millsaps.
I spoke with Delores Harrington of Tarkio. She is an author of a cemetery book (no longer in print)
told me her next book should be published before
long and her first book is going to be included.
I have a mini library and OUR cuz in AZ really is proficient. I have been collecting memorabilia for years. Last March I went to a Family History class for Senior College. I got hooked.
First I work on one line then another, et cetera.
Please contact me anytime...
My email is november12014@yahoo.com...
I am on FB..Marcene Niedt..
I am friends with John Bayless which is a limb off the Woolseys. Go to Woolsey Clan and ask for admittance. It is a closed group. You are another cuz, so please ask me anything.
I know things my mother didn't due to my researching. You are also a Faubion. Henry Faubion is excellent in genealogy. He lives in Missouri, I believe. Ask him to be friends. He will send you whatever you would like. Cuz
Sharon talked to Henry about having a cuz reunion Faubion/Woolsey.
I get carried away talking to a relative so close, yet so far. But Kearney, NE is in
south central Nebraska on I80.
I am a member of the Historical Society in Missouri, Buffalo County and Custer County.

RE: Woolsey stones Union Cemetery
So hello cuz Leslie.
My name is Marcene Niedt.
Not sure how much you or do not know about me.
As I said John & Amanda are my 2nd great grandparents. So I'd say you are in your 50's, maybe.
My mother was a Millsap. Her mother was a Houts and my grandmother's mother was Heppie Woolsey.
Which direction do you come?
Is anyone else interested in preserving the Union Cemetery? Charlotte Rodden is a cousin of ours. She is also a Woolsey. I'll try to find her info, but I believe she is also a member of Find A Grave.
I have found a cuz in AZ who even came to see me in July. Another Woolsey.

Ethel Leona Cartmill Barnes
Thank you for the photo of Leona's marker. However, I now see it's a duplicate of 7847979
which was made in 2003, but you had nothing to do with that. Sad that she died so young.

She is a half niece of James Cornelius Booton - also in the same cemetery.

JC Booton
After looking at what Booton's that are in this cemetery and my database, I believe this is James Cornelius Booton and his wife Sarah J. Medis Booton.

If you agree, would you upload the photo to their memorials and then possibly we can get the JC Booton memorial deleted as a duplicate.

Thanks for your consideration.

Thank you for taking the time to photograph and upload your photo of his marker. Was hoping for a little more information to figure out what family he belongs to.

Your time is greatly appreciated. Keep up the great work!

Thanks so very much for the excellent photo of David's grave in Hamburg. I am a native of Page County but rarely get back there to visit--sometimes on Memorial Day weekend. I have never been to the Hamburg Cemetery, however. Thanks again!
