J. P. Mauffray, Jr.
Location of the Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery
Your Memorial for Joseph M(onroe) Martin reports that this cemetery is located in Pearl River County.
However if the directions listed in the Cemetery window are correct, namely on the Flat Top Road, one mile south of the Lott - McCarthy Road, Then this cemetery is Located in Hancock County, Ms.
Please check this out and if I am correct please change the memorial information.
Let me know if I am right or mistaken. Thanks,
J. P. Mauffray, Jr.

The History of Webster County, Mississippi, is the title of the book, and it was copied right 1985. Sarah Margaret (McBride) Snyder was buried at Providence Methodist Church Cemetery, Maben, Webster County, Mississippi. Not sure if her husband was buried there, he died Apr. 1, 1932 in Webster County, Mississippi.

RE: Glover
Looked into the Glovers, Thomas, father of John, father of my Sarah Peyton Glover (Rose) b 1809, Thomas died 1791 I believe and had 11 children, John an older son raised the younger set of his fathers and his own children. Think John is buried in Tn, Thomas was buried in NC, found a court case on internet where John was sued by his own children (really brothers and sisters) for there part of the Thomas Glover estate, he had to pay 33 pounds split between 6 aires and court cost and sheriff's fee. A pretty good sum in those days. John's Daughter, was William Rose's wife, Sarah, I think they all came to Mississippi right after the suit was settled, if it was settled, it doesn't say, may have just left to avoid payment.

RE: new hope cemetery
I don't know what is considered proof, but the marker for Martha says the daughter of Frances and Margaret McBide, And James McBride is buried at Providence and Joseph McBride: I thought all the children were listed on one find a grave site...

As for the Glover,,, she was Sarah, and I believe really from Nash County NC, just like her husband, and I believe her mother was a Peyton, not sure..

RE: new hope cemetery
The only place to get a Webster County History book is thru the Eupora Library,, they have a good staff and will probably help, remember this is the Holiday season, may be closed. call 662-258-7515. should be open by 9 am, if not for sure 10 am. Did the info on James McBride at New Hope not help, you have never told me exactly what you need...a majority of the graves and especially the one you said you needed are there, either in New Hope, near Maben on Hiway 15 north, or Springhill #2. just do a search for all McBrides in Webster County if you haven't done so...

Could Margaret McBride married first to T L McBride, on the marker at Spring Hill #2 there is no death date for Margaret, and seen on the find a grave site::: and no birth date for the recording in New Hope, Margaret C. of Spring Hill was born in 1840's and at New Hope a Margaret died in 1871 and shown on New Hope's find a grave site.
