Joly's In Ennis Tx
Thanks for linking Abel's parents to him. I am still uncertain if he is in Myrtle or St. Joseph. I recently walked both locations but found nothing. Next time I visit, I will contact the caretakers of each cemetery.
I do know there are 8 Joly plots in Myrtle with only two markers: Minnie Belle Evans Joly & Alfred Joly. So there are 6 plots unaccounted for. Hoping Abel is in one of them. I will let you know what I find out.
Also, Abel was married a 3rd time to Leta Bell Bailey (Moore, then Joly, & then possibly Cribbs as her last husband).
About Ida May Pate, I came across info that her son Claude Horan (from her 1st marriage) was accused of murdering her second husband Samuel A Spivey in 1910. Do you know anything about this?

There is a problem with your request for the above.
This is the cemetery that CLYDE BARROW and his brother Buck are buried. (Bonnie and Clyde). There have been many problems with this cemetery. First vandalism and then people "hanging out" in the cemetery near Clyde's grave. A lock has been placed on the gate. There is a church that supposedly takes care of the cemetery although it is in HORRIBLE shape currently. For the last several weeks, there has been noone out there to mow or pick up broken limbs and the condition of the cemetery is awful. If you call the number for the church to gain access, they tell you that only family members of people buried there can enter. If you are not a family member they will threaten to have you arrested if you try to go and take pictures. I have contacted one of Clyde Barrows nephews concerning the condition and he is to be contacting the people who maintain it.

Joseph Purcell Horan
I'm sorry Don. I have walked this cemetery over and over and unable to find a head stone for Joseph. After learning how he died and so young, my heart went out to him, so I put forth special effort to find his head stone. The cemetery is not kept well at all and some stones are pushed over so I'm afraid it will not be found. If he he buried there I will find a record, if not I will try to find out where he is. Hi Don, I have been to the Holy Cross Cemetery twice lately and cannot find Joseph's headstone. My husband went with me and we walked the cemetery, he on one side and me on the other. I will go back again and give it one more try, but I fear it has been so long ago, it may not have a marker that is readable. Genevieve

RE: Melissa Pate
You're welcome, Don. I couldn't find a stone for A.F. Pate but buried along side Melissa are Ida Fay Pate and Margie May Pate. I posted a picture to Ida's page and have one for Margie as well if you decide to make a page for her.

Take care,
Kevin

RE: Hillside Cemetery - Cuero
My interment list is old (as of abt 1986-1987)and may not be complete and here are the only Bowen that I find in Hillside:
(Below 3 buried by each other with Buenger's and Dixon's and Russell's buried nearby:
1) Symoure C Bowen (Feb 3, 1897-Oct 29, 1965)
2) Bessie Bowen Poth (Jan 3, 1904-Apr 23, 1975)
3) Justin Ray Bowen 1925-1925

and one more not buried near the above 3:

4) John C Bowen Mary 10, 1876-Aug 29, 1904
(his has a Woodmen of the World W.O.W. on it)

So, did not find any more that were recorded before 1986-1987 timeframe. If your Bowen's died after that timeframe they would not be in the list I have (and I'm sure the list I have is likely not complete either - as I am having problems finding some I know are buried there, but it could be that they do not have headstones).

It was a pleasure. The gravesite is in good condition, and the cemetery is well cared for as of late.

Hi Don,

Haven't made it back out to the cemetery yet, but my daughter put in a call to Assumption Cemetery. They are responsible for grounds keeping at Mt. Calvary. They said they were sending someone out that Thursday. They also told her that their records show Sarah and Lucy are in Section E Lot 112, there is a "?" for the grave number, and mention that they are on the East half of lot. The woman said that it was very possible they are unmarked graves. Sorry we don't have more conclusive news. We'll take another look when we get back out there.

Hi Don,

My daughter and I spent the afternoon walking through Mount Calvary looking for headstones of our relatives. We covered the whole cemetery and we tried to locate the ones you were looking for, but we cannot find them either. The grass needs to be cut, there were broken, overgrown, weathered, and even missing headstones. We even tried to compile a small sample list of other people in Section E from http://files.usgwarchives.org/tx/travis/cemeteries/mtcal1.txt where Lucy and Sarah are listed, but we couldn't even find the people who were supposed to be around them in section E. We may need to compile a complete list of Section E and try again when we go back out there.

RE: Sarah Cassidy
Hi, Don. You are more than welcome for the transfer. I went out to Mount Calvary this morning to try and locate the Cassidy graves, but I couldn't find them in the section listed on the transcript. I had claimed the photo requests, but I'm going to unclaim them just in case another photographer has better luck. I suspect that their graves are unmarked or the markers have deteriorated. I'll keep an eye out for them the next time I'm walking different sections of the cemetery. The transcripts have been wrong before. :)

All my best,

Suzie
