If you would like to find out more about the Barrons in Louisiana, some of them are buried in Holloway Methodist Cemetery in Deville, La. I am so happy to have found this of my latest research on my 5th great grandparents. Do you have any info on Lashoma Barron who was a Catawba Indian and the mother of Samuel Barron. I have found alot of info on since, I joined it last year. I would love to share some of my info with you and maybe, you could fill in the missing pieces of some that I have been trying to find.
Thank you,
Mrs. Rae Elaine Bordelon-Hedlind

Wm. Clarence Steele
Hi Melanie, I have added a photo of Wm. Clarence Steele Grave marker to the memorial you set up on Find A Grave Memorial# 75095902. It's located to the right or on the north side of his wife's grave marker. You could not read any of the writing, so I took a piece of chalk and filled it in so it became readable. There is a lot of other writing on the stone, but the letters are smaller and would be almost impossible to figure out what it says. Looks like a real expensive stone, but not one that's readable years later? Not sure why they make one like this.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do to help you.

J N Guthrie
Hello Melanie!!

Thank you ever so much for fulfilling my photo request of little JN Guthrie's marker. I greatly appreciate you kindness and the generosity of your personal time in visiting the cemetery, locating (and possibly the righting of his marker as I know previously it was said to be lying flat on the ground), photographing and sharing your photo to his memorial. You're such a kind soul.

Best Regards,

Thanks Melanie!
I guess I could have looked it up...I have the Lee County Cemeteries books as well.
It is quite confusing now though. Both Cemeteries are confined within the same chain link fence. The group of 13 Cameron graves are within 30 or 40 feet of the Center Point graves and nothing separates them. The lady that had requested headstone photos for Cameron said that two people had already attempted to get the photos but could not find the graves. I assume they were looking outside of the Center Point Cemetery fence. I did the same thing when I went out there...ended up wandering in a pasture and in the woods. Never imagined they would be located inside of Center Point Cemetery. But, as I went in to visit my ancestors graves there, I happened to notice the little group of headstones.
So, thanks again for your help! It is always greatly appreciated!

Milton Tyler
Merry Christmas Melanie!
No, I am not certain Milton is buried in the Lexington Cemetery. Note that his memorial was transferred to me by the original creator. She may have based that on his death certificate info which we know is frequently wrong. It is interesting that his wife, Amanda M. is buried in the Lexington cemetery and someone added a pic of her headstone recently. I know that doesn't mean he is there as well. A couple of months ago I went to the Guthrie cemetery and did not see a headstone for Milton. Of course the cemetery is in very bad shape. I spoke with the property owner and he said that up until about 10 years ago, family members took very good care of the cemetery. Seems like I found where some of those care takers were Tyler descendents, so the record of him being buried there may very well be valid information.
I added a note to his Lexington memorial that he may actually be buried in the Guthrie Cemetery. Your thoughts?
Thanks, Vickie
