|Joe W. Fields||RE: Just a thank you note|
Thank you for the kind words, it is a joy to be a member of Find-a-grave. Many nice folks involved. I started with the SAPD in 1966 and this was the biggest case I was involved in at that time. I was in thr Patrol Division at the time, so I actually had very little to do with the investigation, but it was burned into my memory................j

|Janice Bullock||RE: Larry Dan WESTBROOK|
Thank you for your kind words and for sharing your memories of Larry.
I hope you also thanked Joe W. FIELDS who created Larry's Memorial.
I never knew Larry, but I do know his father (Glendon 1925-2012) and step-mother (Vera). In fact, Vera was my Sunday School teacher when I first moved to San Angelo in 2006. At one time, all of us lived at Baptist Retirement Community (where I still live). I visited Glendon when he was in our Nursing Home.
We're related to WESTBROOKs from elsewhere in TX, and I've always wondered if Glendon's Family is related to our WESTBROOKs. Haven't found a Family Connection thus far, but keep searching as I have time. In the meantime, I consider Glendon's Family to be MAYBEKIN.
Reading about Larry's murder saddened me. What a heart-breaking time that must have been for his Family and Friends!
I'm sure Larry's Family would be glad to know that he's still remembered by his friend from long ago.

|Patricia ||Litane Landers|
Calvin, 'Nook' Kothmann, was my uncle. My mother Ethel was his sister, so that makes Karl Kinney my first cousin. He was a small little guy but he had a huge heart and a ton of spirit! Do you know Marsha and Karla as well? Aunt Litane will be tickled to hear from you. Her address is PO Box 6, Ft. McKavett, TX 76841. Her telephone number is (325) 396-4934. Give her a call; it will make her day. It's neat that you were checking the McKavett graves. If you get a chance, come and visit. Be sure to let us know so that we can meet you and have a meal or something!

|Scott Stewart||RE: Flora Shipman|
In that portion of the Shiloh Cemetery, the plots are in family groupings of 10 -- 2 rows of 5 -- with a concrete perimeter and walkways between each group. The plots are labeled A,B,C,D,E across the top row and F,G,H,I,J across the bottom row. These groupings often include two or more unrelated families.
In Flora's group, the gravesites are:
A - Henry Shipman
B - Mary E. Shipman
C - James M. Hinchman
D - Ray B. Hinchman and Stella May Shipman Tinney Hinchman
E - Robert L Hinchman
F - Flora Shipman
G - Dorothy May Odell
H - Harry and Ruth Hartman, John Odell, and Matilda Nicklin
I - James Hagler
J - empty
Sorry, but I have no record of John Green Shipman in the Shiloh Cemetery, and I made careful notes for every gravesite there when I took the pictures. Let me know if you would like any other pictures of the family group site. I pass by the cemetery every day.

I will be glad to transfer the Ray's to you.. I just happened to be at the cemetery and took these photos. I had a vauge notion that in one of my files there was someone buried in the Tinny section so I took the pictures. Sorry they are on the slant but I took them from outside the locked fence. The Tinney cemetery is a fenced in area inside the Wilsonville Cemetery.

My, oh, my, that has been awhile since I did that cemetery. Fort Benning, when it absorbed much of Chattahoochee and Marion counties in the mid-30's also absorbed about 60 cemeteries, family and church and otherwise. Many were/are documented to some degree, though not all are photographed. I periodically go out to Benning to try to get those that have not been done.
That cemetery is a large lot, probably the size of a regular home lot. I did photo all the graves with stones, which left 85 percent of it basically land. I would not doubt that your family members are buried there, but there is nothing to show for it. Just checked our genweb for the same and it reflected the same names as are listed at Findagrave.
I'd be happy to do some research for you on your grandmother at our library. Something may turn up. Let me know what you need. Linda :)

I don't know if I ever replied or not. Sorry! State Hospital South is a different cemetery from Grove City in Blackfoot. I'm still sorting through records to get the right people in State Hospital Cemetery. It looks like I transferred Harriet Wilkerson to State Hosp. The original records I started with had everyone listed in Blackfoot Cemetery. Thank you for letting me know which cemetery she should be in. Do you want me to transfer this memorial to you? She is not related to me.

I love the pictures that you have posted of the Tinneys at Tallasahatchie Baptist Church Cemetery. My wife was a niece of Leonard & Hester Wood Tinney. Hester was the sister of my wife's grandfather, Euel Wood.
