|Tamara Goff Piercey||Hillcrest Cemetery|
When you requested a photo of Ruth Conoly's grave, you also requested photos of gates or signs. I'm sorry to say that the brick cemetery entrances are almost completely obscured by shrubs.

I am just sorry I didn't find them. I keep hoping that maybe I just overlooked them. I would rather they never had markers at all than to think their markers have been destroyed.

Hello~ I am sure there is a marker for Thomas J Boozer. I will get it. I posted the wrong picture and then deleted it. That is why It reported there was a picture. Thank you for your kind words. Glad I could help. Best Regards, John

You are most welcome. Was glad to help. I had been there long ago so was happy to visit again. There is an inventory online which was conducted in 1996 which lists Sarah along with other family members:
Don't know if her marker still exists and is just covered now with leaves and dirt, or if it is long gone. But, sure was glad to see the foot markers. His marker is pretty weathered now and more difficult to read.
Anyway,good luck with your research.
All the best,

Thank You for the compliment. There is a person, "Blake from Missouri" that is posting photos to "Claimed Sites", that you see on this site. This posting is not according to Find A Grave rules. You could complain, as we have. Thanks. Remo

You're welcome for the photos. People request photos of friends' and relatives' gravestites because they can't be there to see them in person. If they were there, they would see more than just the headstone. So lately, I've been putting the markers in the overall perspective too when I can.

|Pamela Schisel||Coffman photographs|
I went back to the Hammondsburg cemetery and took pictures of all the Coffman graves I could find. I am downloading all of these pictures as well as a picture for Andrew Coffman after I add him to the cemetery. If he is a relative of yours, feel free to take over the memorial. That will make a total of 20 Coffmans at that cemetery.

Do not know the location of the cemetery. Perhaps the "gps" might be of some help. Perhaps there is a volunteer who lives in the area and would take photos of the their tombstones.

I also found a grave that reads:
Dau of A J and Sarah Coffman
died 5 May 1896
aged 15 yrs 3 mos 20 days
If you would like to add Flora to the Hammondsburg cemetery, I will download the photo I took of that grave also.

This maker was very faded. I used a chalk to make the letters stand out. I believe the top of the marker had an open gate (like Heaven Gates)
Also please feel free to copy and use the photos as you wish.

I see you are researching the name Powers. For we have a line to Reuben Powers Jun 1814 - 1884. Reuben was born in Russell County and died in Dickenson County VA.
Frances Gary is in this Powers line.

|Liberty Keepers||Josiah Law|
I have taken on the project of going through church and county records to record all burials in Midway cemetery. As I come apon additional information, I include it on the memorials. I usually trandfer any memorials, but since it is easier for me to accomplish this with fewer maintainers of memorials and Josiah Law is outside the guidelines of four generations for transfers (through g-grandparents), I am politely declining your request for transfer until I am finished with my project.

|TiogaRose||Virtual Flower Removal|
Barbara, only you can remove flowers or photos which YOU have contributed.
Sometimes there are hiccups in the conversation between the computer and F.A.G., and you wind up with duplicates of virtual flowers, photos, AND memorials.
Thanks for asking. Lolly
To remove a flower:
1. Go to the memorial (in this instance Loraine Barrow #38711584).
2. Click on the 'flower' icon that you wish to delete. (It will pop up in a new window with option links at the top to delete, add, or report abuse)
3. Click on "Delete This Offering". (verification to delete notice will pop on screen)
4. Click on "OK".
This same procedure works for duplicated photos. Just make sure you click on picture, not name.

|A Horan||Robley Evans at ANC|
Hi, I've posted for you the photos of the stone for PFC Robley Evans at Arlington National. There is a discrepancy in his day of death between the VA records and what appears on his stone -- if you happen to know that the date on the stone is correct, you could let the creator of his memorial know, so that he could change it.
If you know that the stone is not correct, I can report it to Arlington for you, or you can call them.

|Brad Roberts||RE: Zellner plots|
Yes some were broken. I got in touch with a Ron Zellner who is out of state and has a website with some earlier pictures on it. He said that for a while the older fence sufficed but the cows got into the cemetery and broke some stones and such. He said a Jimmy Zellner got some kinfolk together to pay for a chain link fence a while back. It is down in one place due to a tree limb. It is overgrown right now. He said J Zellner goes out and cleans it up occasionally. I can get you a link to his website if you want.

Did Pauline ever work at Cobb Hospital as a volunteer - she looks so familiar!!!
PS I won't claim her pick but if I can I will walk the cemetery Friday and look for her -- is she buried near anyone?

|Angela Renew Martin||RE: William Stothart|
The Graniteville Sociaty that takes care of the cemetery is in the process of trying to repair all the broken headstones in the cemetery. Some are broken from age and some are broken from vandals. The sociaty is taking great care of the cemetery. I do not know where William's headstone is on the list of their restoration process, but I will keep a check on it for you as I am in the cemetery often. When it is repaired I will take a new picture for you.
