Windfield Scott Eavens (b. 1816)
Hi. I am looking for a Windfield (or Winfield) Scott Eavens (Evans) born March 8, 1816, and from Nottingham and Epping NH who later settled in Princeton, IL. If the "Evans" line is your family tree, do you have any more information about this person?
Thank you!
-Mel

Hi! There is no grave marker for him. I always put this information in the photo caption, and I also explain how I know it is the correct location. Ace

Cannot verify the dates as I live 2 hours from cemetery. You might try contacting the local genealogical society.

I looked up her death certificate and it says her parents were Salmon Riekord of Pennsylvania and Unknown Gettis of Ohio.

Peggy, I have locally found a picture of Fred Wilson in an 1886 group photo. Would you like me to send you that photo via e-mail?

RE: William Harrison Evans
Hi, Peggy,

You sure do have a lot of Evans at that address!!! How far back have you been able to go past Joshua?

Wm H. and Edith J. had 2 boys and 4 girls:

Harrison (Harvy) b: 1868
May (or Mary as someone on MyHeritage has it) b:1871
Ross J. 1872-1941
Edith b: 1880
Alice Edith 1882 (to I think 1909)
and her twin and our great grandmother:
Anna Gertrude 1882 - 1905.

Glad to meet you.

Thank you so much for listing his obit, cemetery, and grave markers. Not sure who the Sarah is though. I never knew they were in Corona with their kids (one who is our ancestor).

Are you related?

Re Himes in Oakwood
Hi Peggy
I have made the corrections you sent to me about Jehiel & Mary Himes.

I made up their memorials because I thought Jehiel maybe related to my wife. Christine Himes. She seems to be related to almost al the Himes in R.I, N.Y Oh but, He is not.

So, If you would like I would be happy to transfer them to you. Neal

RE: Iliff
Hi Peggy, I knew I had a few gravestones that I needed to work on and also a few that I needed to retake pics in Fort Dever Cemetery. Got up there today and, guess what? I found and was able to read the stone for Eddie Springer Iliff that we thought was missing. Go to his memorial on Find A Grave for copies as I can't attach it here. Sorry it took me so long. My husband is doing much better now but he still requires a lot of my time. Jane Foster

RE: Woods in Mauston
I will look him up, he could also be in Mauston Cemetery, that book had a number of references to Woods in the cemetery, but the ones you wanted were on the first page I looked. So Friday I will be back at the library...and will find out.

Yes, it definately reads son of W H & E Wood.

I use a magnifying glass, but if you click on the photo it will enlarge and you can see it. Perhaps they put the wrong initial. It often happens.
