RE: Nathaniel & Elizabeth (Crane) Jewell
Hi Sharon, I am also related to Nathaniel as cousin, we share the same grt grt grandparents in lineage. I live in Illinois near both Wisconsin and Iowa. Sons of Nathaniel and Elizabeth are very near to me such as Almond Jewell in Walworth, Wisconsin, Reuben Jewell of Illinois and David Jewell of Iowa. Almond came to Wisconsin with my grt grt grt grandparents Ebenezer Maynard and Phebe Jewell. I also have tried for years to find some kind of paper trail for Elizabeth Crane Jewell and have found nothing. The reason I listed Nathaniel at the cemetery is because a document states he is buried there. I agree with you Elizabeth would be with him, but I was worried about adding without any documentation. Please let me know if you find anything for her. I will do the same. I have a tree on Ancestry at private if you needed anything on the Jewell family that I could help with. Thanks, Debbie

Hi! I don't remember seeing anything about A Finstad. If you have any info, I would be pleased to learn. I have an Axel Andreas (Andy) Finstad brother of my great grandmother Christine Finstad Williams. Sincerely, Cyndi

Do you happen to know what the J. was for in
Edward J. Trott's name? If so you should send
an edit on his memorial.

I found the marker today. It took a while.
It like a lot of others in Angus are discolored.
They half a orange tink on them. It must be
from an iron content in the stones they use.
Luckily no damage was done to the cemetery a few
weeks age when the tonado touched down in Angus,
just an half mile away.

I was at Angus Union this morning. I found some
Trott markers, but not one for Gladstone. Could it be under another name? If so, remove your
request, and add a new one with the other name
mentioned in the note.

Thank you for the leads about K Knudtson
Hi Sharin. Thank you so much for those sources. That Maryfield area cemetary link is great. I did a few ties on the Saskatchewan link, but no hits yet. Not sure how he spelled Kaalbjorn, Kolbjorn, So that might trip me up a bit more. I may also have found the wife of the missing Carl Johan Peterson Frodahl, 1863-1918, that went to Canada and passed in 1918. His sister Martha Finstad is a gr gr grandmother to me. NWe thought he may be the Peter Finstad in Skudeness. Still looking into that one too.

Thank you on Akers and question
Hi Sharon. Thanks for getting back to me again on my find a grave Akers. I appreciate your also looking for Peter Finstad. I am looking for another relative that I know died and was buried near Maryfield, Saskatchewan, name was Koljborn or Kaalborn Knudtson. (Father was Knudt Olson) Most of his family is buried in Drammen Cemetery in Eau Claire County, Wisconsin. Kaalborn was born Dec 18 1858-d Sept 14, 1932. Anyway, I have been unsuccessful looking for him on ancestry or find a grave. Would you have any suggestions where I might be able to find out what cemetery he may have been buried in. Or maybe an obituary. Would you know which newspaper I might look? IF not, I understand, no problem. Thank you so much for all your help. Sincerely, Cyndi

RE: Parkland Lutheran Church Cemetery
Hi again - I decided to add the GPS mapping to the record to show where Parkland Lutheran Church was on the map.

I changed the Census Division to Lloydminster - as oddly enough that seems to be where Camrose is shown.

I suspect that Find a Grave conversion was catching the Parkland and assuming it was in Parkland, Alberta which is located in the Claresholm Division.

Hopefully, this will help now.

Thanks again for letting me know about the problem and if you hear back from someone at Find a Grave I'd be curious to know.

RE: Parkland Lutheran Church Cemetery
Hi Sharon,
Thank you for your kind words -- I'm glad it was helpful to transcribe and photograph the headstones at the Parkland Lutheran Church Cemetery and thank you for noting that Find a Grave appears to have Parkland in the wrong Census Division.

The Census Division isn't something that I added -- this was an update that Find a Grave automatically made when they updated their records for Canada. If you feel that it's in the wrong Census Division you can contact Find a Grave directly with the additional information that you feel is correct. It's helpful for them to have the link to the main page when you send them the request. (They appear to be using the as their source.

email that I've used in the past is:

thanks for doing all that you are doing!

Re Trott Family
Hi Sharon,
I did some connections to the Trott family.
I will look for more information and if you would like to check them over, I can add whatever else I missed. Will look for obits.
Just send a sac and include info for all the Trott memorials.
I also put the married names down as the original contributor did not do that.

RE: Walter Funnell
You're most welcome, glad I could help.

To my knowledge, the Brownfield cemetery is actually called Fairfield cemetery. I also visited that cemetery this past summer and at that time there wasn't a stone for him there. From the looks of the stone in the Coronation Cemetery, I think it was placed by the town to mark the grave as I know in the 90's many places did this for unmarked graves in attempt to clean up their cemeteries. If you contact the Town of Coronation they might be able to give you some more information about it from their records.

I hope that helps.
Jessica :)
