Pat, I apologize for taking so long to thank you for visiting St. Michael's Cemetery to look for the tombstone for Louis Dentinger. Even though there is no longer a stone for him, I do sincerely appreciate you taking the time to do this and the photograph of the locations. Nancy

More "Botsches"
Hi, Pat. Would you mind adding your photo(s)--from Chester Botsch #65997663--to the remaining folks who are buried in that large plot?

John William Fahr #67916491 (AKA Baby Fahr)
Emil Botsch #27043605
Henry Brooks #65998401

(If you like I can put in a photo request, but that might send others out on the long quest it was to find the grave.)

WTC Photo Request

Since you have not responded to my request to post your pictures of John Schardt on his WTC listing, I have posted the pictures of his gravesite on his WTC listing, giving you proper credit for taking these photos. There will be many tributes posted to these heroes in time for the Sept 11 anniversary.

I hope no harm was done by my action, since I gave you credit for taking these photos.

If you wish for me to remove these photos and you to post these photos on his WTC listing, please let me know.

Thanks again for taking your photos.

Request to Post Your Gravesite Photos on WTC Listing

I noticed that you posted pictures of John Schardt's gravesite on his listing.

John was a NYC firefighter that I interviewed for a consulting project to reorganize the NYC Fire Department. He died as a hero and will be forever missed.

I have created a WTC listing for John Schardt and hereby request you post your pictures of John's gravesite on his WTC listing.

Thanks for your assistance in fulfilling my request.

RE: Brooks/Botsch graves
Thank you, Pat, for your efforts to locate the Botsch/Brooks/Fahr family plot. Others have tried unsuccessfully, and now I can see why. I wish I knew more of the story behind these gravestones. Were there never headstones? Was this the family's wish? Were these simple stones a result of the collapse of this area of the cemetery some years ago?

The Botsches are my grandparents, the Brooks my great-grandparents, and my infant brother was buried in one grave.

As a photo volunteer, I wish I could always find a gravesite or one with a legible headstone, and I know it's impossible. At least, you have found the site. Many thanks. Sandi

Thanks for the photo of the Sweeney Headstone for my family. It is nice you took a wide shot of the spot, which is pleasant since the stone is in the rough and brown spot. Much appreciated,

Many thanks for the attempt at photo of John's grave, unfortunately the family does not give specific details when I get the death info but I have marked his memorial as such, as you described, many thanksagain. Christine
PS Some people just take a pic of the general area stone or no stone to show people where to pay photog. marks with flowers...

RE: lessmann plot at flushing cemetery
Pat ~ I'd love you to get a shot of my uncle Al's headstone too but please don't make a special trip. I'm going to have to ask my dad some questions like why isn't Al's name on the family stone? And where is their other brother Harry who died in the mid 20's? Since these are his half-brothers and all considerably older than my dad he didn't know them well, some not at all. I sincerely appreciate your help too, since I live in San Diego and don't get out to NY all that often! Have a wonderful holiday season ~ Beth

Photos of memorial
Hi Pat! Thank you so much for posting the photos taken in St. Mary's Cemetery, of the memorial for Bridget McCarthy. The pictures are excellent. Bridget was a dear friend who lived nearby at the time of her death. I don't suppose I'll ever get to N.Y., so you have done me an immense favor! Thank you! Dona

Kate White/St Mary's Cemetery
I was given a small book by my aunt with the birth and death dates that my a great uncle and eventually my grandmother kept. Under Kate White's name and date of birth is her passing date and the notation that she is buried at St Mary's Cemetery, Flushing, Long Island. There are a few St Mary's in New York and the first one I tried was Mount St Mary because they lived in Greenpoint. She was not there so I hope she is at this St Mary's because I have four infant siblings to Kate that I'm trying to find out about. Kate's mother Nellie and father James died in the early 1900's and left her and a brother and sister(my grandmother Agnes) to be raised by an Uncle Martin White also in Greenpoint. I'm trying to find Kate, her parents and the infants. Thank you so much for your is truly appreciated. Jean

RE: Charles Heibert Allegheny Cemetery
Unfortunately sometimes with the flat stones over the years the grass grows over the markers, this was happening to my Dad's marker t another cemetery.
Thank you for taking the time to going to the cemetery & look for me.

RE: Problems Reported for This Request
Reported by: pat hennessey on Aug 31, 2010
General problem: Other problem
Details: I found the spot where Charles was buried but there was no stone there. He is buried in between Annie Patterson and Vito Piccinni, both of whom died in 1927. The graves are 28 rows from the tip of the section on the left, and 21 rows in from the road in the flat stone section.
