Rick Springer
Old Poplar Springs Cemetery
Hi! I noticed some new photos of graves from the cemetery above. Has it been cleaned up? When I was there in 1991, it looked like the other photos of the gate and fence only and lots of trees and shrubs. I believe Elijah and Lucinda Pitts may be buried there, but I have not been able to verify that. They died between 1880-1890 and their 3 orphan children, James, Bob and Maggie moved to Texas to live with their half brother. If you know anything about them, I would love to share what I know! Thanks for all you are doing! Rick Springer rick.springer@sbcglobal.net

John Silas Allen-Mitchell Cem.-Itawamba Co.
Donna,
Do you know if Cynthia L. Frames was John Silas's first wife or not since an Itawamba Co marriage record shows they were married in 1847 but oldest four children were born in SC before that date. Also, were the youngest two children; Herbert(10) and Eugene(8) shown in the 1870 census, sons or grandsons(by Middleton). Hope you can help. I would think we might be abt 10th cousin. just kidding. My line is to his brother Moses Holland. THANKS FOR READING. jim---email: jenee36@bellsouth.net
