Hello Richard, I have found another. William Orlando Hopkins buried in Marathon Village Cemetery. He is also listed as being son to Bennett and Sarah Hopkins. Would you please help clarify these two burials? Thank you.

Phoebe Ann Hopkins
Would you, for me, please clarify the mystery of Phoebe's last husband's surname? Was it Osborne or Ausman? If it was Ausman, when and how did she learn the truth? It makes for an interesting story. He enlisted in the civil war as Ausman, married (1879) and lived with Phoebe through at least the 1892 NYS census as Osborne and apparently had a son in 1882, who eventually became Floyd Ausman. Her gravestone lists her as Ausman. Christopher's CW Pension Application listed him as "Ausman, Christoper (alias) (Osborn, Christopher)" Harry hmiller2@rochester.rr.com

The cemetery does have a web-site that this information came from Basically burial date and age and location of burial. I did not find Oscar in the listing though. Probably the wrong person?

Abner Hopkins (1767-1843)
Richard,

Thanks for the update on Abner Hopkins. I have added the new information to his memorial page.

In this cemetery, I read all of the stones that I was able to move and included that information in each person's memorial. I also checked the "Cemetery Inscriptions of Saline Township, Washtenaw County, Michigan," compiled by the Genealogical Society of Washtenaw County, Michigan, Inc., and no other gravestones were found in this cemetery that bore the Hopkins surname as of their reading in July, 1982.

'Hope this helps.

- Sharon

Melanie Watson
RE: Hopkins

I was born to William S Watson, son of Mark S Watson and Beatrice R Young (Watson)
Mark S Watson was son of Mark Logan Watson and Minerva Gladys Hopkins.
Minerva was my great grandmother.
My grandparents (also in Sunny Hill Cemetery) both died very young, and therefore much of the information about the family line went with them. I would be very interested to hear any information that you might have regarding this part of the family.
My email address is watsonme2006@gmail.com
Thank you so much for writing back.

Hello there. My Great-Great-Great Grandfather is George W. Hopkins buried in Montcalm Michigan. I was curious if you have any connection to this Hopkins line, as many members of this line have passed away and I have been trying to gather information. My grandfather was Mark S. Watson, son of Minerva Hopkins (Watson), who was the daughter of George Hopkins.

:-)

Sunny Hill Cemetery
Hi Richard, I've transferred all of the Hopkins family memorials over to you. If there are other family members, or if you need anything in my area, please don't hesitate to ask. I'd be more than happy to help.
And your words were very kind, thank you. Your wife must be a very special woman, it's one thing to care for your own child with special needs but it's something entirely different to care for those that aren't your own.
Both of you take care :)

A McFarland photo request
Hello! I wanted to inform you that the Helvetia Cemetery of Sacramento, Ca is called the New Helvetia Cemetery. However, it no longer exist. All burials were removed and re-intermented in other cemeteries around the Sacramento area. Most all of the markers are gone. It is next to impossible to photograph a singe grave. Here is a link with 3 stories talking about the New Helvetia Cemetery and it's burials.

http://www.valcomnews.com/?tag=new-helvetia-cemetery

You can find the New Helvetia Cemetery also listed in Sacramento County of California on Find A Grave.
