RE: Floyd A and Elsie Smutz
My mom was a stickler for that. She got all my aunts' family pictures, then when my mom died I got them all! A lot of them I photographed and put on Find A Grave! Thanks to her I could figure them out.

You are very welcome. This came as one of those chance kind of chain reactions based on an edit someone sent me for Mrs. Smutz, a correction on her death date (don't know how I misread it - after all, I took the picture!). This, along with several thousand other memorials from Sunset, was transferred to my care from a Mr. Lewis Browder who transcribed them from Riley county and sexton grave records. I have been photographing this cemetery extensively and using some of that to fill in memorial gaps. I found your record through Abner Smutz when I decided to try to add more information on his memorial. Always fun to fill in the missing pieces and send these people "home". Have fun teaching!

Left edits for Floyd Smutz. A duplicate memorial from Sunset Cemetery, Manhattan KS is in process of deletion. Transferred Elsie Smutz.

Kelly,
I found the Illif Cemetery and unfortunately I would guess that sometime in the past that cattle had roamed among the stones. All stones that we found were broken. We dug out all of the stones that we could find but unfortunately Mariah was not amongst them. So sorry I was not able to confirm her burial.

RE: Thank you
You are welcome! I really enjoy looking for graves and photographing them. It's even more interesting when it helps someone with a personal connection to the person.

I have transferred your grandparents' memorials to you.

I see that you are a recent member. I joined 2 years ago and recently passed the 10,000 memorials mark most of which are in Eastern Oregon. I am sure that you will help others when you have time. I know another contributor in Jefferson County who is a teacher and has contributed over 40,000 memorials in the last 2 years. If you see any of "Malena's" memorials she has gone to great lengths to gather information about many of the pioneers in Central Oregon and she is inspiring to other contributors, such as myself, to do more research for memorials. If I can be of help to you, please let me know.

RE: Bird City Cemetery Smutz Graves
You will need to delete Elizabeth's maiden name, that I added to it. I didn't correct that, before I transfered her to you.
Do you have a name for Elizabeth's husband? There is a Rev. Allen up there, too. He is already on the findagrave under the Bird City cemetery. How is he related to Elizabeth or is he?

RE: Thank you!
Would you like me to transfer the others to you, that I put up, that's in the Bird City cemetery? I can do that if you would want me to. That way, you will be able to add what you want on the memorial pages.
That way you will be the one able to maintain the pages.

RE: Thank you!
I added his wife Charlotte May Smutz, his baby son David A. Smutz, his brother B. Randall Smutz and Elizabeth Allen, which might be a sister because she is buried in with Abner, Charlotte, David and Randall Smutz in their family plot.
I also added Wm. Alvin and Margaret I. Smutz, that is buried in the Goodland, Sherman county, KS cemetery.

Welcome
Welcome to Find a Grave.
You will love it here. I am transfering some of the Gekelers in my care to you. I kind of hate to loose them as they were some of the first ones I created. I hope you will make beautiful memorials out of them and put in the family links.
