RE: Geneology
Hi Ian,

The Hamilton connection is from my Grandfather, Roscoe Barnes Smith Jr. married Edith Hamilton of Gnadenhutten in 1916. Edith had one child and that was my Mother June L. Smith and rest as they say is history.

Have a Great Day,

RE: Geneology
Hey Ian,

Thomas Cleo Hamilton is my 3rd Great Grandfather and his son William is my 2nd and his son Charles Winfield Hamilton is my Great Grandad and all lived in the Gnadenhutten area.
My Great Grandad's only daughter married Roscoe Barnes Smith who was descended from the Smith's of Bartlett, Ohio.
One question about Thomas Cleo. is the history book of Tusc. County say he was a life long resident of Gnaden but I found from his personal letters and death certificate he died at Hiram's Farm in Liberty Township in Washington County.
I was curious as to how did they transport him to Beersheba Cemetery from Liberty Township??

Hi Ian,
Hate to ask, but would you mind removing photo from Fannie Lane's memorial? (J. Benjamin Chrismond has posted one that's a bit clearer.)
P.S. Tried to send this via e-mail, but it bounced back. Hope you are ok.

Marriage record
Dear Ian,

I just posted the marriage record for McDonald Greathouse and his Wife on your Memorial for McDonald. I don't know if you want adjust the placement of this or not. M.'s pic. should probably be the most prominent.

William Vernon Greathouse
Dear Ian,

Thanks for all of your hard work on the Greathouse side of our family.

I just got done linking a relative of ours, William Vernon Greathouse, 141581358, to McDonald and Samilda. Please be aware that someone else has a duplicate of this up in Girard's cemetery.

RE: Nixons
Thank you, I'm descended from George Nixon through his son Wesley B Nixon. My mom was born a Nixon, but she didn't know her father very well, so it's been a nice journey learning about his side of family. Thanks for the help! Do you know if the Nixon's in our family are related to president Richard Nixon's family? They were from Vinton county, the Nixon's in our family were from Washington county, just 70 miles apart. Seems there is a possibility of them being related.

George Nixon
Thank you for your wonderful job on my g g g grandfathers memorial page,I couldn't have done any better, and thank you for doing it so quickly. I will try and search for his final resting place. I searched all four persons who died in the explosion and none of them have a final resting place as well. This might mean there is a plaque somewhere and they are buried together. If I find out anything I will let you know.

Thanks again

Martha Malinda Haught
Dear Ian,

We are related somehow if you are related to the Haughts.

Martha Malinda Haught's SECOND Husband (after Levi disappeared after the 1860 Census) was John Gooseman. He and Malinda married on December 9, 1875 in Washington County, Ohio.

Also, Nancy Haught and Sarah Haught, may not be the Daughters of Levi Haught. I did read Tobias' obit. and it does say that Levi just disappeared. He may have been a victim of the Civil War. I don't know if he ever made it back to his Wife.

Also, there is another Levi Haught living in WV at the time, but he appears to be a completely different Levi. If I find anything further, I'll drop you a line ... but I doubt it.

Have a great day.

Hey, there,

Waiting for Sandy to get to the DC area.

Who were your Great Grandmother's parents? I think we are related, but I just don't know how. Who was the Haught that she married?

Listening to Gerraldo right now. Don't know how much of this stuff is hype re: weather and how much is real. I am sure tomorrow will bring the answer.

In Christ,

Yes, I am related to the Haughts. My Great Grandmother was Annnie Lucinda Haught.

Waiting for hurricane Sandy to arrive in DC...which really sucks, by the way. I am hoping to maintain power, but don't know if that's going to happen. During the July derecho, we lost power for 18 hours...which wasn't too bad.

Dear Ian,

I, too, love to working on finding out who my ancestors were. Most of the people who are buried at Knob Cemetery are kin to my family, so I am working on setting up memorials for every single person buried there ... which bring me to the point I want to make.

THANKS, so much for putting up William R. Farley's and Ferdonia Isabella Hamilton's graves. I connected their son, Raymond Dale Farley, today, thanks to YOUR help. A LOT of families buried their loved ones on their own farms during the first part of the 20th century. It probably seems strange for a lot of us now.

Also, I know that William was married to a Faye Elaine Knutty. Do you know if she is still living or not? My Daughter and I visited Knob Cemetery in 2007 and took pictures of EVERY grave there, but Elaine was not deceased, according to the marker. Any help you can give to let me know whether or not Faye is still living would be great.

I was adding markers for New Home Methodist Church Cemetery and noticed that the information for Marhta Stalling #55419291 and Martha Rebecca Ruark Stallings #67713527 seems to be for the same person. The dates on the tombstone apply to the first Martha (#55419291)

Isaac & Rhoda Hayes
I'm hoping you can help me. I've been searching for any information on my 5th great grandparents Isaac and Rhoda Hayes. On every document I can verify Rhoda's maiden name is Coon/Cone/Kuhn. But I always end up here with Rhoda Anna (Weaver)Hayes. They were born approximately the same years and in the same place. Does any of this make sense to you? I'm looking for the parents of Albert Robert Hayes born September 1, 1883 in Washington Co, Ohio, Married Wilhelmine "Minnie" Schenkel. I appreciate you taking the time to read this, and any information you may have.
