RE: James Martin Call
Hi Linda,
Again I am sorry for making things confusing.
I think I might have found The father of James Martin. He seems to be Issac Call who WAS the brother of Daniel, and Daniel was the husband of Anna Ellis.
The mother of James Martin was Sarah Elizabeth Slater.
i know in your original memorial you did not list William, father of Daniel Sr as being German but the spelling Kahl is German.
I am ordering the books tomorrow.
Alice

RE: James Martin Call
Hi Linda
I did not mean for you to take down the memorial. I just was trying to understand everything.
Daniel Call and Anna Ellis did nave a son James but I never could find evidence that said that James MARTIN was their James.
If you found it in the history of Wilkes Co it could be accurate.
the part I was questioning was that Daniel Sr's father was of German decent (Wilhem Call) This is the part that cannot be correct because of my husbands DNA test. He is in the direct line and at least some German should have shown up.
The other thing that is odd is the Memorial for James wife Emily #70534981 also says she is the Daughter of Daniel and Anna! That would make them brother and sister! Ahh!
I know I am making everything more confusing but hopefully in the end it will be straightened out.
I am just beginning to find out slowly that there were Finley's in Wilkes Co!
My fathers ancestors came from Scotland by way of Ireland, then Ohio and then Illinois.
I also just found out about Daniel Boone living in Wilkes co for a while. And yes the John Finley that went with Daniel Boone was is one of the branches of my family tree.
I need to pick this up in the morning because my brain feels fried.
Could you e-mail me at Alicecall@comcast.net?
Thanks and again I am sorry if I am making things more confusing.
Thanks AliceFinleyCall

RE: James Martin Call
Thanks for the name of the book I will order it today!
A lot of the confusion does come from the different Call's many people merge the 2 family together.
I could be wrong.
I have my husbands line from Great Britain traced with documentation all the way to Daniel Jr. Still fuzzy on what Daniel Sr.is correct. But if there is a Jr. in my husbands line there has to be a Sr.
My husband had a DNA test done and he has 94% DNA from Great Britain and 0% from western Europe that is when I started seeing the two different lines.
Your James Martin very well would be as you say, from the German Call's I will get the book and try to figure it out. I have been in touch with both lines of the Call's trying to get this straight.
If I find out anything for sure I will let you know.
BTW both sides have several Daniel's and Williams's
the British side has one name that always sticks out and it is Pickney. It is a British name and means navigator. Thanks so much for the name of the book! AliceFinleyCall

James Martin Call
I am not sure all of the information you have on James Martin is correct.
There could be 2 James Martin Call's
Could you let me know where the information came from. At that time there were 2 Call groups, same area, one being of German decent and one being from Great Britain, possibility Scotland or Isle of Man.
Just trying to sort everything out.
Thanks AliceFinleyCall

Mrs. Mary Polly Church Obit
I wish to apologize. I was cleaning out my inbox of junk email and came across your suggestion for Mrs. Church which you sent me back in Aug. It was in there with a whole slew of ad emails and I must have just passed over it. I am so sorry that I didn't see it until now and want you to know that I added her obituary to her memorial. Thank you so much for the additional info on her. Vicki Bullard

looking back and editing the colors it looks like it may be the Mary Watters who died on Nov 16, 17??.My photo looks to read Aged 97 or possibly 27. I'm leaning towards 97.I tried enlarging the photo that is on the page for Thomas Run but it didn't let me enlarge and it was dark to read. I don't want to add it to the wrong page. I would like your imput if she is your relative.

Elizabeth Bullis Jennings. Thank you for the correction of the birth year. Could you supply a link about their children with information about the research/your connection. This would be very helpful. I have often thought this link was questionable in all accuracy. The Bullis family had multiple Elizbeths and Marthas, and I know little about the Bullis family. I know Luke was a popular name for the Jennings family and am more familiar with the Jennings family. Any research you can share is greatly appreciated.

RE: L A Bullis Family
I'm sorry I don't have any personal information beyond my Grandmother Martha Bullis Eller. She married and moved to W Va. about 1913, raised her Family and died there in 1968. My Mother married and settled in SC. All of our trips were to visit Grandmother in W Va. As a child I do remember visiting Grandmothers siblings in Wilkes a few times but it wasn't enough to get to know anyone. Mother did make sure we knew the names of her Grandparents and G Grandparents on both sides. I have just started my Journey on the Bullis Family. As you know each bit of information is an exciting Gift, Helping to understand where you came from.
Thanks for all the work you've done and being so generous with your help. BJ Orr

Re: Sarah E. Mackey Cosden
According to the 1900 Census of Sarah and her husband, George Washington Cosden, she was born 25 Sep 1860. Also, according to the marriage records at the Delaware Archives, Sarah and George were married 15 Jul 1885 (by William D. Mackey...in Newark, DE). Rev. William Downing Mackey, PhD...was Sarah's father. Would you mind adding this info (and correcting the birth date) of Sarah?
Thanks,
Sue Thompson

Re: William Waters
The Find A Grave memorial for the old burying grounds in Georgetown was setup to see where most folks that are today in Oak Hill were buried at 1st. One of the most interesting is Stephen Balch, a minister of the church that owned this yard. Library of Congress has some old newspapers which detail the move in the late 1800s. You might check the Find A Grave Oak Hill entry and the official Oak Hill website to see what you can find about Waters and his pal McCubbins
