RE: Candis Morris photo
William Overton Cox (1834-1903)son of Charles Cox and Rebecca Thomas married to Sarah A. Morris daughter of John A. Morris and Candis. The cemetery the John and Candis are buried belongs to one of their decendants, but I'm not sure exactly who. Most of the graves are children of that family, I was told. Mostly Thomas and Groce surnames.

No problem, happy to help. I wish I could have taken photos of all the headstones, but they were covered in poison ivy.(I just look at the stuff and break out) I was told on my trip that Morris Chapel is in the process of publishing a book, which will have a layout of this cemetery and photos. I too have Candis Thomas, but I've seen other people use Candis Cox. I do know that their daughter Sarah married a William Cox, that is where my line came from.

RE: MORRIS CHAPEL
Morris Chapel of Lee County, NC is located on Cox Mill Rd. The graves of John and Candis Morris are not located in the church cemetery. John and Candis are buried in a family cemetery on private property, which is short distance from the church. I did have the good fortune to have a very nice church member offer to take me out to see the cemetery. We had to walk a good distance. I would have taken more pictures, but they were covered in poison ivy.

Morris graves
I have been trying to locate the cemetery but cannot find a Morris Chapel road on the Lee County map. Can you give me anymore information about it or anyone who might be able to help me locate it? I met a woman in the Jonesboro cememtery who said they were her relatives and she told me they were buried in Carolina Trace (where I live). However, I searched the one where she told me they were and did not find any Morris' there. I also searched 2 others in Carolina Trace and did not find them.

You're very welcome. The other 2 you requested, we also took pictures of. We do enjoy doing this very much, and are so pleased that we can help people find information on their loved ones that have passed.

We actually live in Colorado, just visiting daughter and family. He's Special Forces at Fort Bragg. Tried to get her interested. There are so many cemeteries there and so many photos to take. Would love to go there and spend a week or so. Love to do this for others.

Ditto on the problem finding the grave. Do not spend any more time and effort on this. Simply not worth it. I will delete the request. Thank you for hunting. M.Andersen

forget searching any longer for Emma Blaylock. It is not worth the time and effort. I will just delete her from my request list. Thank you for searching, she either is not there as supposed, or off somewhere else. M.Andersen

gravestone photo is great. I have tried to read the inscription. Is there any way you can enhance your photo to tell me what it says? I would like to add to the memorial. Thanks. M.Andersen

Request for Milton Stewart grave photo
Sorry for the previous mistype. The dog jumped on me right then. LOL

The Chinnis Cemetery that your request was posted on is not the Chinnis Cemetery at the location on that map. I hope this makes sense. The one that you likely want is located to the north of Hwy 74. I have a listing of all the burials there. In the next few weeks, I want to go down there to it and inventory it again and take pictures of the stones.

The location shown on the map for the Chinnis Cemetery where you left your request has as I recall one Chinnis and the rest have the last name of Sue. That listing is at the Brunswick Co. GenWeb Site. I had posted it there.

Both cemeteries are located on private property.

RE: David Gibson photo
Is there some confussion about thier names? We did find Daniel Gibson and his date of birth and date of death was the same as David's, it seemed to us that they were one in the same. We did a complete walk through the cemetery that really was very small and only found Danial's grave site. If you find any more information about David please contact me and I'll look somewhere else for you. Frank

RE: Campbell photos
No problem at all. I pass this cemetary every day. The shadow on Tommy's stone was from a very small bush planted right next to it. I held the bush over so my daughter could snap the picture. Both are flat stones with no upright stone. There are many like that in this particular cemetary. They are side by side with Lois on the left and Tommy on the right.
If you have any others in the area, let me know. Now that the weather is getting pretty, I have several that I need to go and gather for myself. And I know what it is like to have family buried in other states that I just can't afford to make the trip to photograph graves. Again, you are very welcome.

-Melissa
