Military Service of Charles B. Monroe
Thank you so much for your information on Charles Barton Monroe, buried in Rice Cemetery, Champaign County. Thanks to you, I was subsequently able to find that he mustered in as a private on September 3, 1862, in Champaign, and mustered out on June 9, 1865. You are doing a great service to these brave men and their descendants.

William A. DICKSON
Russell, thanks for posting the picture of William A. DICKSON on memorial # 100108388. I am a kinsperson of his wife Rhoda Jane MENEES DICKSON. I was wondering if you have any additional information about them - especially Rhoda. I'm looking for the name of her father as according to estate information, she was kin in some way to James W. MENEES (my ancestor). Any help you could give is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Janet McKenney

Joseph Mann
RE: Sgt Cyrus Whigham
Russell,

I only looked at 6729. Plot 672 is in section 8, and I took photos for everybody in that section previously. 672 is an unknown grave.

He is not listed in the VA grave locator nor the NPS gravesite locator.

I do not believe he will be located.

Joe

RE: Civil War Veterans
Since Charles Ruby is a relative, I would prefer to retain management of it. But I will gladly include any new info you may have, and with proper credit. :) He had a brother, John W. Ruby (25903613), who died in the Battle of Stones River at the end of 1862, but he was buried in Macon County, which might be out of your scope. He had several other brothers who fought, but they all lived to tell about it except John.

Hi Russell,
You have entered a memorial for Corp. T.M. Berry at Mt. Hope Cemetery. I believe he is the same as my Thomas M. Berry as the company he served in and the year of death are a match. However, according to his Veterans Headstone request card, he died on 2 Dec 1889. Where did you get the date of 12 Feb? I would like to link him to his wife and children, but want to be 100% sure this is the correct person.
Thanks,
Diane
