John Griggs
Death certificates recently released by Pennsylvania archives document that the John Griggs buried in Quaker Hill cemetery is the son of Joachim Griggs and Sarah Griggs. Edits have been submitted. If making these edits is too burdensome, you may transfer my Griggs ancestors to me.
Thanks, Ron Clees

Photo permission
Hello Rodger,
In working through my family tree, I find that I have included at least one of your photos from Picture Rocks Cemetery, that being the gravestone of Michael Ferrell and family, and I want to be sure that you have no objections to my using your photos in this manner, with attribution to you and Find a Grave. If you prefer, I can remove the photo and any others as I come across them. Thank you very much for your consideration. Gwen

Jane W Rockwell - wrong wife
John (my 2Xgrt-grandad)'s first wife was Amanda Albina Coons (b 29 May 1842 Onondaga, NY - d. 9 Dec 1886, Canton, PA), daughter of Philip McDuffie Coons (1804-1873) & Mary "Polly" Fay (1808-1858). Single, Amanda is in 1850 Onondaga, NY, Census, and 1860 Union, Tioga, PA, Census. She married John Elias Rockwell (a Civil War-Gettysburg hero) on 25 Sep 1864 in Canton, PA. They had two daughters there: Grace (30 Jan 1866 - 1905) and Clara Lavinia Rockwell (23 Dec 1868 - 6 May 1955). Married to John, Amanda is in the 1870 & 1880 Canton, PA, Censuses. -Next to both their families. She died 9 Dec 1886 in Canton, PA. By 1890, John next married Jane ("Jennie") W. "KING" [not Jane "Warren" at all - HER husband and children's' names can be found elsewhere]. John & Jennie had no children; and we have photos of them married through 1916 when she died. The 1900 Canton Census question re: "yrs married?" must have made John say, "36," thinking of his 1st marriage. The 1910 Census has them both giving the correct answer: "20 yrs." This Jane ("Jennie") never had a child - per Censuses. [The erroneous "Jane Warren" had at least four - per her answers.] John went on to marry twice more - no other children except his two daughters with Amanda, and Clara is my great-grandmother.

Last Names of Family members
Rodger - in searching the index of the Ellenton cemetery - I see that a few of my grand parents, great grand parents and one aunt have the last name as Nissley. These individuals are actually "Tomkins"

Cassius Henry Tomkins
Jennet Florence "Jennie" (King) Tomkins - spouse of Cassius H

Violet Mercedes (Nissley) Tomkins = spouse of Lawrence Clinton Tomkins

Daughter of the above
Ester G (Grace) Tomkins

I hope these can be corrected in the find a grave index

Sincerely Martin Moore - grandson of LC Tomkins

I usually do the automatic edits first--so I have no way to ignore or undo what you sent. So please re-submit your changes back to what things were before, if you can. They'll show up in red, since you'll be removing info--but I'll keep this e-mail, so I'll be expecting those...

RE: Re: Sarah Crandall Shipley
Hi Rodger,

Perhaps this info will help:

Wisconsin History Vital Records

I believe that "Sarah Ann Crandall" and "Simon L. Crandall" are the persons of interest from Waupaca County, Wisconsin. The marriage date listed (Jun 12, 1878) is from when Sarah married my ancestor Thomas Shipley. As you can see, her son from a previous marriage "Simon" was married in the same county Oct 31, 1875. Due to errata, his correct name is Simeon and his grave is <"">here and maintained by his descendant Cindy.

So any help you can give Cindy and I on trying to figure out whom his mother was (maiden name, first marriage, etc.) would be extremely appreciated. We're trying to solve an ages old mystery about who Sarah was and what happened to her after Thomas Shipley's death.

Thank you!
David Shipley

RE: John A Cahn
That's fine, Rodger, I really don't care. Would you please add the birth and death info from his other memorial (#109832119), plus link him to his parents? I will add my photo to your memorial and then delete mine when yours is complete. Thank you.
