Memorial Transfers
Hello Mary,

I just transferred Jannie Kile's memorial to you. I will be glad to transfer other memorials to you, but to ensure I do them correctly, it is best if you request a transfer for each one individually. That way I don't miss anyone. Sometimes, I so not think all that clearly.

As noted on my bio page, I am reducing the number of memorials I manage because of health issues.

Have a great day!

RE: Hazel White Bates
Unfortunately I do not have any photos, nor do I have an obituary for your Hazel N. Bates buried in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Ledbetter, KY. I was in town from California visiting my granddaughters and the cemetery was near their house. So my husband and I spent a couple of days taking photos, adding names as necessary, and basically filling in the gaps for those names that had no grave photo posted. As this is still an active cemetery, my time there only covered deaths up to just before June 2014.

I hope you will have some luck finding an obituary. I suggest checking with the local newspaper there in the area -- Probably Paducah rather than Ledbetter would have a paper that would cover the deaths from that area because it is a city larger than the town of Ledbetter.
Paducah Sun

Paducah, KY

Livingston Ledger -- The internet I found this listing didn't provide a city - so suggest checking yourself.

The Paducah Sun is a widely distributed newspaper. Another option is to check the public library in Paducah to see if they have copies of the Sun that would cover the time period following Hazel's death and ask if they could do a quick research for you -- some librarians will and some won't so it wouldn't hurt to ask by calling and speaking to their research librarian.

Hazel White Bates
Hazel already has parents, spouse and siblings connected to her. If she is your aunt, transferring her to make a connection to you won't work. Your connection is through one of her siblings. I'd be happy to add any bio info you wish to add, just use the edit button and I'd be more than happy to add the bio info to her memorial.

I have transferred this memorial to you. Just FYI this is the first I have been asked to make a correction to her memorial date. I will leave that for you to add. For your information, just because you put a picture on the site does not mean I get a notification. I had no way of knowing you had added a picture with a copy of the grave stone that shows dates. As for the other 3 transfers, they have been made as well.

I can transfer, but just an FYI yours is the duplicate, it was created after mine. I am transferring her and her husband's memorials to you. Please delete both duplicates.

Thanks!

RE: Transfer
No Worries! The only other thing I would suggest is, when asking for the transfer thru the memorial, no need to put the memorial # again. Just the request then your Find A Grave #.

Hi Mary,
Transfer complete!! Yes, that is how you ask for a transfer!
Sorry, if I came across short or harsh! That was not my intention at all. It has been a long day for me. I am behind in so many areas in my life. Find a grave is one of them! I'm looking forward to summer break!

Blessings, Christine (Beverly's daughter)

RE: Transfer
HI Mary,
Sending me a message with each memorial is not how you post a transfer. You go to each memorial and on that memorial edit and under suggestions you ask for a transfer. When I get it, it opens right up to the memorial that you want transfered. This is how it has worked since I took over care of the memorials under my mother. Unless of course it as changed.

Blessings, Christine (Beverly's daughter)

His father and mine were brothers. which one of his kids are you married to. If I can't get it to accept it I will e mail you the picture. thanks for getting back to me. Rita
I added his mother and father to it also. Hope they will accept it. If I can find the information on his brother Charlie I would like to put that on there also. Or if you know Bonnie Plumlee you can get the information from her.

Well, I'm not sure. I don't see it on the memorial page.

Did it show up as a change on your end? I haven't seen it here yet. It was the prefix block on the name field, that you went to, right? And you selected "Pvt" from the drop-down box? It should have popped that right up for you when you went to his page since you are the manager, when you selected edit.

I'll look tomorrow and see if it ever showed up.

Thank you, and again, I appreciate all that your great-uncle did in defending our freedoms. God bless them all.

KING, Clarence at Pleasant Grove, ARK 46980759
Hello. I am a fellow volunteer here on Find A Grave. I am a big supporter of our veterans and I think they deserve to be honored upon every chance, including the small courtesy and recognition of having their military rank included on their memorials. (In the fashion of adding their rank added via the drop-down box, so that it will then appear in the title line of their memorial page)

Just wanted to ask you, would you please consider adding his rank to his memorial? It may not seem like much to a layman, but I assure you that the rank does mean something to these men, and they had to work for their achievements.

Thank you so much! I appreciate it. Best wishes for 2014.
