John Dugin Eastridge
Hi April,
I am putting together a family book for my husband. Would it be ok for me to include five of your photos? They are the headstones for John Dugin Eastridge and his sons.
I will be glad to give you photo credit, but understand if you say no.
Thanks so much,
Angela Marlow

RE: Memorial 117557256

I have a Levi Lewis Burns who had, amongst other children, a son John Robert Burns. John Robert died in 1926. His death cert says he was buried "Powers Chapel Cem" in Trosper. I have created a memorial for him.

His father's (Levi's) death cert says date of death was 31 Mar 1940. Your memorial for Levi Burns says 30 Mar with no year. This is close enough either could be off by a day.

His death cert says he died in Twila, KY and was buried in place: Barboursville, KY. Barboursville is about 9 miles from Trosper. In my opinion, since the death cert was from Harlan County, this is close enough to be the same cemetery.

His death certificate says he was age 64, which would put him born in 1876. However, it gives birth date as Nov 18 with no year. -- this could be mis information or the tombstone could be off. Or, maybe the transcriber but the month & day from death as birth???

The point here is, I suspect, but can't prove, that "your" Levi Burns is Levi Lewis Burns, born 18 Nov 1876 (although some census records would make it 1874) in Kentucky and died 31 Mar 1940 in Harlan County, KY. Husband of Mallie I Ford and father of Pascal Burns, Cretie Burns Stewart, Rubin Lewis Burns, John Robert Burns, & Ina J Burns Gibson.

RE: Stanfield/Brown
Hi April,
Based on the facts that Elias Stanfield was living in Campbell County in the late 1830's and that his firstborn son was named Sherrod (a common name in your Stanfield family)I am pretty sure that he is somehow related to your to figure out HOW he's related!! Thanks for your help--Marla

RE: Stanfield/Brown
Do you have the surname LEGG in your family? Elias Stanfield's widow married Sampson Legg.
Both Sampson Legg and Elias arrived in Cole County MO in the early 1840s and they were neighbors.....I feel there is a connection between the Leggs and Stanfields??

Elias Stanfill/Stanfield
I am looking for the parents or siblings of Elias Stanfill/Stanfield, who lived in Campbell Co, TN in the 1830's.

Elias is listed on the 1838 Land/Tax records.

He married Eliza Brown in Tennessee and they had a son Shird/Sherrod born in TN in 1837.

Elias and family are in Cole County, MO by the 1840 Census.

Any connection??

Thanks--Marla member#35891707

Moses Lay
I linked Moses to his parents, John M. and Rachel Foley Lay. Theresa/Thunderbird originally added the memorial page for Moses, and she may know which book that the cemetery location is in. Theresa has contributed a lot of info for Scott Co. TN burials and other info about the area. You may want to check with her to verify the cemetery book she used. Hope this helps!

Bill Vanderpool
Joseph Vanderpool
Hi April, Joseph was married to Edna Mae Wells and every record has a different name for her - Didamy, Diettima, Edna Mae, Eddie and Ada. Her find-A-Grave memorial has Edna.

I just updated my file on this family and you can see what I have found at:

I have no idea who the George Davis family are that daughter, Sarah, is living with on the 1920 census.

I am not able to find anything on their son, Joseph Mathew. Where did you see the date of death of 1996? OK, I found a record for Joseph Matthew Wells (1901-1996) Is this the same Joseph?

My Duplicate Memorials

I appreciate your letting me know about the duplicates. I am not very well versed in using the site. How can I get rid of the duplicates and where can I find the other original memorials?

Thanks, Nora

Mary Parker
Thank you for identifying Mary! I notice I entered her death on the 13th, and another source has it the 11th. Do you suppose she died on the 11th and was buried on the 13th?

Davis good stuff
Thank you for the additional info. I put the whole thing in the bios. Let me know if you want me to change anything.

It looks like you have some Davis memorials too. Not all mine are related to me, best I can tell. Are Joe & Dina related to you?
