Military headstone
I saw your note about military headstones on your Find A Grave profile. Can you tell me if the V.A. will set a military headstone on the grave, or if the family has to arrange the stone's installation? One of my 4th great-grandfathers was a Captain in the War of 1812. I suspect that his grave is unmarked, and I'm in the process of verifying that. If it is indeed unmarked, I would like to get a military headstone for him. However, I live in a different state and it would be difficult to personally oversee the installation of the stone. Any info you could give me would be much appreciated. Thanks for your help.

RE: Robinsons in Independence Cemetery
Bailey's Corner is in Gillam Twp. I don't know who put it in that way, or why...I hate to start a third one. What needs to happen is the two in here already need to become one, but since I didn't put either in here, it isn't something I can do. you can contact me directly at infarmgirl@hotmail.com if you want...

Robinsons in Independence Cemetery
Hey...just a quick note....Independence Cemetery is PHYSICALLY in Gillam Twp, Jasper Co. I am not sure who moved the cemetery to Medaryville, Pulaski co. You might consider moving info to right spot...I almost created another set of graves...One of the many things that drives me nuts about this place...physical location vs mailing info....

Samuel Meacham
Just read your memorial about Samuel Meachum. I am a decendant of Joshua's, part of the family that dropped the "a". Not sure if these are part of your family, but finding this was amazing for me!

Thank you for putting up his bio, I have some great info for my mother now!

Hezekiah Bailey
Eric, Thanks for all you are doing on find a grave. I contacted you to request you add a link. You listed Scovil Bailey in the Granville Center cemetery. Also buried in the same cemetery is his son, Hezekiah and his wife Catherine (Vrooman) Bailey.

Hezekiah Bailey and Catherine Vrooman are my third great grand parents. If you look at Hezekiah's household in the 1860 census it lists his son Norman and Norman's first wife Matilda Brown. They had one son, Milton Bailey, b. 1860 just days after the census was taken. Matilda died some time in the 1860's. Nobody has ever located her grave. After his mother's death Milton was raised by his maternal grandparents, Barker & Elizabeth Brown. They are both buried near by in Mountain Lake cemetery. Milton left Pennsylvania about 1879 with the Josiah Lane family and ended up homesteading in North Dakota.

There is no markers what so ever at the County Poor Farm. You would need to contact the Secretary of State's office & request a death certificate would possibly be helpful.
