Transfers
I sent your family over to you Scott but you sent me the wrong Find-a-grave number for yourself. I was able to track down your correct membership number, so I was able to complete the transfers. So as I always say after a transfer "Treat them well, for they are a part of your family's history." Sincerely, Robert Miller

Rachel G Fife
I have found Rachel G Fife living with her parents in both the 1850 and 1860 census records. I don't know what happened to her after 1860, but I'm pretty sure she didn't die as as infant.

Would you mind removing that information from her memorial page?

Thanks,
Teddi Smith

God Bless the man!! He must have been a saint. I transferred Margaret to you and I notified KBStewart about the duplicate memorials. He is quite nice and very prompt in correcting his memorials.

Also Lida Brown Simpson and Thomas Simpson are also buried on this plot. I wasn't sure if you knew. I did not make the memorial or I would transfer them to you. However, I did post pictures of their headstones.

Good Luck on your ancestral search,

Janet

Sarah McKinley
Yes, Sarah McKinley is my great grandmother. I was also told that she was related to President McKinley. I haven't found a connection to that, but at some point back when Ancestry.com had an easy way to show you all your relatives, I did see that we were related to President McKinley's wife. I can't remember her name right now, but she wasn't a McKinley. So, kind of ironic.

I also don't have anything further back than you do. Everything I have is at Ancestry under the name thehappypetersons. Let me know if you can't find my tree. It's named Peterson.

Thanks!
Transfer made Scott. I've had so many people claim a relationship just to have all people with the same surname whether they are related or not. And, then when real family come along it's gone. Glad to transfer.

Christopher M. Fife
Scott, I only transfer to people within the four generation guidelines. How exactly are you connected to Christopher? I know you said cousin, but which family member do you connect to him through? I know several of the family members, and if you are, indeed, closely related, I might consider transferring. Please respond through his memorial - #50856133.

RE: Bethel Cemetery Transfers
Mr. Fife,

Thank you for your interest and your note.

I have given your request great consideration & after speaking to other direct Fife descendants, I am choosing to keep these Memorials in my care. I live more than 3 hours from the Bethel Park area and made a special trip to research the family of my Aunt Louella Fife. I have asked several other Fife family direct descendants in the past what I should do in these kind of situations and they advised me to keep the graves because there is just no way to fairly choose which descendant should get them.

I would be more than happy to update any information on any of the memorials or make corrections at any time.

Hi Scott,

Or should I say hi cousin! Thanks for the info on the Miller's. That Joseph Miller's father is Martin Miller (1809-28 Jun 1893) who was married to Mary Schilling (1824-3 Mar 1887), both born in Germany and died in Pittsburgh. They are both buried in St. Michaels cemetery.

As far as I know my family lived and died in the South Side, Allentown, and Beltzhoover neighborhoods of Pittsburgh.

That 8 Pius St. was Jacob Breinig's house, it must of been a family flop house, for I find it in a couple of records. Also it is a couple of doors down from St. Michaels church.

Let me know if this helps!
Any tips on researching records for Germany?

Thanks again and keep in touch,

Jim Miller

Jacob Breinig Pittsburgh, PA
Hi Scott,

Jacob Brienig is my Great Great grandfather.
I'm new to this, doing it for my father.

His daughter is Elizabeth Breing who married a Miller. I haven't found that Miller, but thier son is Sylvester, my grandfather, with 3 siblings. I am going to St Michaels church soon to research some more, was wondering if you could share any info with me. i have some Breinig, and Speicher, and some branches mainly from the female side.

He is from Puttlingen, Saarland, Germany. And yes the family is from the Allentowm/Mt. Oliver section of Pittsburgh.

Thanks

Johnston Adams Conner
Almost forgot to reply. So if Sarah Adams Connor was Johnston Adams' sister, does this mean that you know who Johnston Adams' parents were? That would be a great discovery! I used to correspond with a cousin from the Adams/Hultz line who is now deceased, Johanna Myatt. She worked for years trying to figure out who his parents were. She also sent me some of the info about the court fight over for Thomas Patterson's land. Thomas Patterson was married to Mary Fife, a sister of my (our?) 5th g-grandmother, Margaret (Fife) Fife.

You can see the text of one of Johanna's emails to me at: http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=cherie&id=I4872 (You'll have to copy and paste that into your browser.)

I knew Johnston Connor had to be a relative :)

No problem, Scott! I didn't realize that you and I were so closely related! We both descend from John and Mary P. (Adams) Fife who were my 3rd g-grandparents! Very cool! I'll transfer him right away!

John Frank Fife
I'd like to keep the memorial for John Frank Fife unless you're more closely related to him than I am. His father was the brother of my g-g-grandfather, John Calvin Fife. I'll get him connected to his parents right away :)
