RE: Roger and Lumina Goulet
Thank you for getting back to me. It's because of your photos that I got so interested in researching this couple. Thank you. They are in my extended family in my family tree. I was able to find out what happened. It is correct that they are buried in Los Angeles. Roger moved to Montreal after his wife's death, so he passed away there. He was laid to rest next to his wife in Los Angeles. I still don't know the circumstances of his burial. The Metis had traditions, but Roger being an educated man, may have set aside his Metis ways. Thank you again for your help. I would not have done the research without your photo. -Yvonne

Roger and Lumina Goulet
Thank you again for the photos. It got me digging, so to speak. I found some of the story of how this couple ended up in Los Angeles. Now I will have to visit California. The couple retired to Los Angeles. Roger then moved to Montreal after the death of his wife. He then passed away in Montreal and was laid to rest with his wife in California.-Yvonne

I am a bit perplexed, so I am just asking questions. I should say thank you, first of all, for taking the time for the photos. Let me explain why I am perplexed. It makes me want to know more of this couple, as I myself am Metis. I grew up that way, with it's traditions, so I am wondering, how did this couple end up in a cemetery in Los Angeles?? Roger died in Quebec, which is wonder enough, and so did Lumina, so how did they end up being buried in Los Angeles? I thought, maybe cremation? But, if they were French Metis, as I am presuming, then, they more than likely were Catholic. And Catholic Metis didn't believe in Cremation. What happened? I'd love to know more of the story. Can anyone explain. -Yvonne

Bartosch Photo
Thanks for great photo you took of his headstone. Sorry, you had trouble finding his wife's marker -- Ada remarried so her surname was Barker at the time of her death but she's listed as Bartosch in her obituary. When I called the cemetery office, they told me they're both buried in the same grave, so perhaps no one ever erected a monument for her?

Thanks for posting the photo for Edith Marleah (Buchanan) Courtney. I really appreciate your taking the effort to do so. I've made the request a long time ago but didn't have a plot location until recently. I listed two possible locations. Can you tell me which one was correct?

Thanks,
Dan

Ah, I'm so sorry! I had an old email address that I wasn't really checking and hadn't been getting the notifications or been on the site lately but now I get the notifications from my new email. :) I really appreciate you taking the time for these requests and for the one a few years back. :) Cheers!

Thank-you so very much for taking the time to take this photo. It's amazing to actually see his stone. There is something very satisfying seeing where all of my relatives are buried. I live in Buff, NY and have traveled to Canada and Ohio just to take pictures of my families stones. Tomorrow my grand total of pics on find a grave will be 7,000.Again Thank-you so much! Barb

I just posted a picture of him if you want to check it out. He was an inventor during his time and had several patents. I'm happy that we can pay tribute to him online. I have to work out a bio with my mom. :) I'm his great great grandaughter. :)
