RE: Heslip Philips
Just on a hunch, I searched the cemetery where Eliza'a parents are buried and sure enough that is where she is buried also. I have submitted the edit to have this added.

Heslip Philips
You have a very good page for Heslip Phillips (64194368). In your research have you found anything about his wife, Eliza Dunbar? His obituary says she lived in that same area and I wonder if she is buried in that same cemetery? She is one of my ancestors and I have not been able to locate anything about her. I live in NE, so it is not easy to go do research there.

Alpha (Sharrock) Colwell

Thanks for you response to my inquiry. In your Bio on "Find A Grave" you indicated that you were born in Oakdale and are still living in Oakdale. I just live up the road in Elk Grove. I lived in Stockton from 1970 to 1976 and moved to Elk Grove to the present time.

Started family research in 1965.

You mentioned that your 2nd husband, John Calvin Boyd, was related to Alpha. Can you help with connection? Am always curious about how families are specifly related.

I'll mention some names of the Colwell and Sharrock families that had a one time lived in Modesto and Manteca area---Plank, Sanford. Do you recognize any of the names?

Do you have a family tree on Ancestry? You will find my "Eguaras Family Tree" under name of "James Monroe Colwell". Argus Duane Colwell was the 2nd husband of my mother Sibyl Arline Ward. Have done a lot of research on the Colwell and Sharrock families. Also one of my aunts, Jean Colwell, and done research on the families. Lots of pictures and stories.

My father, Eugene Martin Eguaras, is a Basque, born in Spain and came to America in 1919 through Ellis Island. He was 19yrs old.

Let me know of the connection to Alpha? Did you ever meet her?

Alpha Sharrock
I notice that you have Alpha as a child of Robert Edmond Sharrock. You also show her middle name as "Omega", how did you come by that informaton? This not a trick question, the family would like to confirm that information. We not found on any offical documents.

I am Alpha's step-grandson. My step-father was Argus Duane Colwell.

Hello... I've just been doing research and find that I am also a Hubbs/Kell descendant. Mary Ellen Kell Hubbs was my GGGrandmother. I'm really interested in learning more about my family and especially any unknown living relatives I may have.

Misty Blankenship
RE: Lula Jackson Hildreth
Do you know if any photos of Lula exist?

I am a direct Blankenship decendent and have traced it back to Calvin and Deliah, as well.I connect to them via their youngest son Henry, whom Deliah was pregnant with when Calvin was killed. But, if you would be willing to share info, I would love to see it. Since you are closer to Lula's family, you probably have holes I have yet to plug. I'm always grateful for any help available :)

Have you been able to prove that Deliah was a Buckner? A fellow researcher with good intentions, Audrey Horner, started this Buckner business a few years ago & has been real quick to classify Deliah as a Buckner with no evidence. I have repeatedly asked her to put possibly a Buckner, since it leaves it open for further research until proof can be provided, if that is even possible. Otherwise, it closes the door on further research in the event Deliah WAS NOT a Buckner. I am not convinced she was or wasnt. Its still open for me. Audrey is going by a hunch. Sinces its my direct line, hunches aren't enough for me. So, I ask in the event you do know for sure she was. Possibly you found out through maybe Franklin's family. He would have been close to his mother and knew who his grandparents were. I look forward to hearing from you. If it would be easier, my email is

RE: Mack Dotts Blankenship
Thats no problem. Her husband David was a brother to my great great grandfather and I have already researched each of the Blankenship's in the line. Until I hear different, I will assume what my family says as her cause of death is how it happened. I have no reason to believe its not the true account. I just didn't know if you could confirm or deny. You know how family history that gets passed down can pick up new details through the generations :)

Amanda Smith
I am responded to the post you left on Mack Dotts Blankenship memorial below. I was wondering if you knew how she died? A family member had said she and David got into an accident with horses taking off while they were in the wagon and she ended up dying from her injuries. Do you know anything about that?

Mohter was Amanda "Mandy" Margaret Smith, b. about 1864, KY; d. before 1886, MO. Mandy was the daughter of William R. & Sarah Jane [Marsee] Smith.
