Hello Maira, I saw you left flowers on this memorial, her burial noted at Bates Township Cemetery in Mapleton,Iron County, Michigan USA.

I believe this is my aunt Julie who was born, married twice and died in Minnesota? I don't know why she wouldn't be buried in Minnesota as well?

If you'd be so kind to write me with anymore details you might have on her - I will share my email with you also - debralee320@aol.com

These dates recorded with her name also match records shared in Minnesota... she was last married to Ronald Oscar Haavisto in 1970, they divorced in 1975. She married my uncle first, back in 1957.

Hoping you can help somehow?

Best regards, Debralee

Leif Grankulla
August Grankulla
Hei Maira.

Terv,

Photo of a grave
Hello Maira! I have a realtive to me here on Find A Grave "Emelia Karolina Staf" Find A Grave Memorial# 28726208.

Her parents were:
Israel Staf born 21 Feb 1850 in Malax, Finland
and
Karolina Simonsdotter Glader born 14 Nov 1845 in Korsholm, Helsingby, Finland

If you ever have the chance, could you take a photo of their grave at Korsholms New Cemetary "Mariegård" ?

There is a photo of the grave on another site:
http://haudat.genealogia.fi/php/haudat1f.php?coun=fi&lang=sv&code=58&id=2793
But as you can see you can't tell anything of that photo sadly.
If you could do this for me I would be very grateful !

Kind regards, Andree Glader

Arno Aalto
Carl Gustaf Brunström
Carl Gustaf Brunström 5.4.1818
Place of birth: Tammisaari, Finland
http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=38970168

Tällainen mies syntyi Tammisaaressa, mutta Hämeenlinnassa haudattiin ilmeisesti eri Carl Gustaf Brunström. Ainakin mikäli uskomme Hämeenlinnaan jätettyä muuttokirjaa 99/1841 sekä rippikirjoja, niin haudattu mies on syntynyt 11.7.1808 Ruotsin Vankivassa, Skånessa.

Hi, I see you added Erkki Aalto's grave. Do you think this could be the same man? We have his biography listing Erkki and him having returned to Finland after the Spanish Civil War....

Any help appreciated...

Hei

Varmaan olet oikeassa. Aika sotkuiset sivut tuolla Hauholla.

RE: My Glader-relatives
Thank you ! But I think there was some problem?
On Karl Edvard Glader profile I cant go to his spouse Matilda Maria Lervik Glader (1870 - 1953)

And if I watch Matilda Maria Lervik Glader profile there is 2 "Matilda Maria Lervik Glader" as her spouses? Hm.

And on Hertta Lemmitty Kuisla Glader profile I can't press on "Erik Knut Glader (1907 - 1973)". I get an error here as well.
And if I search on Erik Knut Glader there is no spouses in his profile.

Hm, can you please check this out and see what the problem is? :)

Thanks!

Hei

Ihan oikeassa olet! Nuo talon nimet meni minulla väärinpäin:( Henrikan äidin syntymä on varmaan jäänyt hukkuneelle paperilappuselle ja pappi on sitten jälkikäteen muistellut, että lapsonen syntyi ehkä toukokuussa 1809 :)

Näitä hautakivien henkilöiden taustoja on kiva selvittää. Sopivia pikku pähkinöitä purtavaksi! Tässä tulee samalla hyvää harjoitusta. Aluksi lähettelin omien esivanhemien tietoja, mutta kuten sukututkimuksessa on tapana homma tuppaa laajenemaan suuntaan jos toiseen.

Mara Nowak
Finnish relatives
Maira,

I am seeking your assistance to find further information on my Finnish relatives. I do not speak Finn, so run into issues finding the correct cemeteries to continue my search.

My grandmother was born in Kuortane, Finland. Her name was Maria Ilona Hernesmaa and she was an infant when she left with her mother, Alena Kaaranka (married to Matt Hernesmaa/Hernesman). I am hoping to find more clues to my Finnish roots. Alena's sister, Sanna Kaaranka (married to Paavola), returned to Kuortane, Finland and I believe that she was buried there with her parents.

Any assistance you can offer would be great. At this point I am thinking about learning Finn so that I can research (this is only one line of several of Finnish origin on my side & my husbands).

Thank you.

Hello Maira, I see that you added a flower to this man's site in Forest Lawn, Norfolk VA some time ago.
I have usually been adding a little something about the Unknowns listed on the Seamen's Friend Stone there--making them an 'honorary Virginian' because they are resting here in Tidewater...But if you know this man or his family; that they are from Finland etc. I will leave "well enough alone" as they say.
Edna
ps, My husband's grandmother's family of Anton Mattson and Maria Hietamaki immigrated from Jalasjarvi, Finland (late 1890's) and settled in Chippewa County, Michigan--lots of his distant cousins are still in Michigan (big family!); but he has never met any.

A Family Who Loves Genealogy
Maira...would you be kind
Hello there

I am trying to get the correct spelling on the marriage certificate I have added to memorial
51934782...

Since I am not familiar with the correct spelling...I would love for you to look at the marriage certificate giving the names of the groom's parents.

Am trying to find information where I can add them to findagrave and ancestry.com.

A lovely Finnish gentleman contacted me from the input on Find A Grave asking for more information on Klaara who was the sister to my grandmother Albertina who died before I was born.

Thanks again! You are simply wonderful!
