Jennie was my grandmother. You say in your write up that nothing is truly known about her early life. I know things. Mostly from stories she told. Also, my parents have her journal. If you would like any info to add to the write up, I would be happy to share what I know of my grandmother. She was an amazing woman.

Emily Gertrude Jackson
Hi Judy,
I am tracing my step father's family tree. I noticed you are related to an Emily Gertrude Jackson. Did she have a sister named Elizabeth and a brother named James Arthur? James was my step father's granddad and I'm trying to find information about him. Kind regards Zoe

David Jewell
Orchard Cemetery
Dear Judy,

My name is David Jewell (B-1949). I am the oldest child of Donald Jewell and Shirley Ross. Shirley is the only child of Clarence Ross and Genevieve Knox of Laurel Nebraska and Clarence was the first child of Albert Wilton Ross and Margaret Robson. This makes Andrew Robson and Margaret Blackburn, who are buried in the Orchard Cemetery, my great, great grandparents.

I have been doing genealogy for 15 years and have been at a dead end with Andrew Robson and Margaret Blackburn and had about given up until I found the "Find a Grave" pages for the Orchard Cemetery that you maintain. This web site is fantastic!! The amount of information and pictures for this family line will take me weeks to digest. Thank you so much for all you have done for the heritage of the family.

My mother, Shirley Ross Jewell, is still alive and lives in Sacramento California. She has been the family historian for many years and has gradually made me responsible for passing all this information to my side of the family. She corresponds with Don Ross regularly and was not aware of your web pages until I called her last night. She is also amazed by your work.

I was in the Air Force for 24 years and was stationed in England for six years in the seventies and eighties. I have flow over Aspatria several times in route to a bombing range off the coast of The Isle Man. This area has some of the coldest, wettest weather I have ever seen. After six years of trying, I only saw the ground through the clouds twice. It's easy to see why Andrew would want to immigrate to America.

I was particularly interested in the information about Margaret Blackburn and the two boys born before she married Andrew Robson. I had seen those boys listed in the 1841 census for the family of Joshua Blackburn. They were listed as grandsons but not who their parents were or what happen to them. If you have any further information about the circumstances of their birth, I would love to know more. I have always thought it was strange how she was significantly older than Andrew and was middle aged before she married. This, combined with two fatherless boys in Victorian England, that we actually know about is even more strange.

I also know of several more of my side of the family who are buried in the Concord Cemetery. If you want to add a few names to your virtual cemetery, I would be glad to help.

I hope this finds you well. I am curious to know how you tie into this family line and would love to hear from you. Thanks again for your work.

Sincerely Yours

Kind of a goose chase. Philo and Charles are not in that cemetery. They are in the Franklin Cemetery down the road in Tipton. Just north of M-50.

You had three requests in for pictures of markers in Orchard Hill. I got all of them today, but took pictures in four cemeteries, so will take me a while to get them all sorted out and send or post the pictures.

Judy. I don't know if they are related or not, but I show several other Thompson's in Concord. Mary "Mother" 1880-1951 appears to be. Others are Orion 1877-1935, Royal C. 7-17-1846 to 1-7-1918, William P. 1832-1911, and "Children of R.C. & M.D." - Carrie died 6-29-1900 aged 4y 1m 11d, and Stella E. died 6-25-1900 aged 2y 6m 22d
I don't post memorials, but will add photos if you want any of these.

B.J. Waters
The Dawes at Inglewood
Hello Judy. I found Hannah's memorial (don't know why I didn't notice it before) and added her gravestone photo. And Alfred's is now posted as well. Just to let you know, I did a search for Percy at Green Hills Memorial Park (which borders the city of Rolling Hills) based on your tip in an earlier message. He is not buried there, either. I will try a couple of other local places before I give up, though. I love a challenge.
