|JaneB||RE: Pentecost Family|
I'm sorry but I don't have a photo of Alvin; however I did find that someone with a Family Tree on Ancestry.com has one, they've chosen to keep it 'private' but if you're a subscriber you could contact them and see if they'll share it with you.

|Connie Jarvis||Nancy Rooks|
I found a death certificate for Nancy Rooks and posted that on her memorial. The next time I go home, I will see if my mom wants to ride over to the cemetery with me and I will check again on if I can locate a marker for her. It appears the last time I was at the cemetery, I missed some tombstones - either that or they're not marked. Hope having her death certificate can give you a little more information.

|Connie Jarvis||RE: Rufus Rooks & wife Nannie|
The end of last year is when I went to the cemetery and shot all the headstones that was readable. I have just started posting the pictures but I haven't come across one for Nannie Rooks. She may be in an unmarked grave. Now that I'm in the process of posting all the photos I took, I have noticed some names that I did not see markers. The next time I go back home, I plan to go back to the church cemetery with a list of those names and look again. Glad I could at least post one of your requests.

I had a time getting in to there but took pictures of the other graves and will try to download them. I am not very good at cropping and working with Photoshop. The tombstone on Ann shows Ann Geiger. The writeup shows Anna Murff Geiger. The name on the Herman Geiger monument shows another spelling Ann Murph married to John Geiger.

I have taken pictures of all the tombstones in this cemetery and will be posting them soon. Many graves are marked with nothing more than flat marker stones, those I did not take pictures of as I have no idea who is buried there. I hope you find everyone you are looking for.

That is correct. I only had a regular camera back then. I have a digital one now and it takes a better picture.

I took that a very long time ago. I think about 2002. Next time I am in that area I will make a pass back by there.

The HCHC does not take photo requests. HCHC is not listed as a photo volunteer.
The e-mail in the message is not one that I am familar with.
There are several volunteers who take photo request. Carol Anne Johnson Hoch and Tom Streetman to name two.

"A quick search of the Sumter County Marriage records shows C E Richards married Mary Emma Rooks on Dec 6 1906. Please change "maiden name unknown" to reflect Mary Emma ROOKS.
Please link them together & post photos of this couple & the previous couple."
I have changed the memorial to show her maiden name. The two memorials were already linked together. I have no photos available to post of these couples.

|C. T. Lewis||RE: Nancy M Rooks, Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery|
Your note asked the following:
Death date 29 May 1920, as per Georgia Deaths, 1919-98 Record Birth, Marriage & Death, from ancestry.com. Will you re-check your survey against the record & if warranted, change the death date.
My data source showed the following:
Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery survey submitted by Alan Anderson has the following notation:
"Nannie ROOKS 1848-1918 (d. May 29,1920; Daily T-R 5-30-20)."
Therefore the cemetery survey showed death in 1918 and the local paper's obituary showed death in 1920. Since you also show another confirming source that her death was in 1920, I have changed her memorial to 1920, with a note that her tombstone states 1918.

"Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery. On Wisdom R Rooks' memorial page it says that Mary Lou's maiden name is unknown. A quick search of Sumter County Marriages gives her maiden name as CROOK."
Your additions have been made.

Sorry about the one word entry. My finger slipped and hit the wrong button and it sent! Guess I'm getting tired.
Got your request about the Johnsons. Would you please go to one of their memorials and select the Edit button on the top right corner and send the information to me under a correction? I have no idea what cemetery they are buried in and I need their memorial numbers to be able to link them.
I will be more than happy to link them all together and do anything else to update their memorials, but I need your help if finding them.
