Ok, I'll delete the duplicate Mercy Phillips Dring. I was specifically searching for her birth and death dates, that must be how it was missed :-0

You suggested linking George, 136279106, born in 1831, with Betsey, 140381507 (1828-1904) as his mother.

Thanks for the bio info. I've made the change; however, I wonder if Sophie is a diminutive of Sophronia, as for instance, Molly and Polly are diminutives of Mary. BTW, would you like a transfer?

I have further developed Hannah's memorial so that you can now see who she was, which differentiates her from the lady you are searching for! Hope that helps! Jim

I found a duplicate memorial in the same cemetery...someone created it thinking they were creating something new...but they simply left the l out of her last name and although it doesn't have dob it says she died at 24 years old. The dod is different...but likely its the same person.

Check out Mary's Memorial. I also found Marjorie M. Young but she is not dead. Her daughter's obit is on Find A Grave. Margaret J. Devins' memorial is 139786002. Marjorie is married to Melvin Ranks and they live in Randolph, Maine. Linda

Will you be able to find her parents and put them on Find A Grave so they can be connected with Mary? Linda

RE: Mary I. Young Higgins
I found Herbert R. Young's obit. He died in 2009. He was Mary Higgins' brother and his parents were Alex and Jenny Young. I wonder if Alex and Elie were the same.

And I found Marjorie and Melvin's daughter's obit, Margaret J. Devins. Marjorie was Mary Higgins' sister. She married Melvin Ranks. In 2014 Marjorie and Melvin were still alive. I will keep snooping also. Linda

Are you sure you have the right parents for Mary and Harvard? If yes, why.

I have Eli M. Young and Jennie E. Young as Mary's parents. What you provided has John L. Young, 156907608 and Jennie Young, 156907673, as her parents. They seem to be a little old for all the kids they will end up having. Harvard was born in 1930 and that would have made Jennie in her 50's. Linda

RE: Silvers in Westlawn Cemetery
Hillsborough County Cemetery is right here in Goffstown. It is run by the County and not the town. It is the cemetery behind the women prison. It is above on a hill by the trail. It is only marked with headstones with #'s. No names. When I went up there. I believe there were 722 stones (going off memory). I have been given a contact # for someone who may have all the records, but not sure how much she is willing to share. I am going to try to contact here this week. The cemetery is very well kept, but hard to get to now with the snow.

Hey just noticed something on the County Cemetery:
Hillsborough County Cemetery
Also known as: County Farm Cemetery, Pine Grove Cemetery.

Wonder if their son who passed in 1927 is buried there?

RE: Silvers in Westlawn Cemetery
I heard back from Cathy at the Public Works Department and she stated she will get back to me at the end of the week regarding the Silvers. She is in the process of combining her list and the Historical Society list to make sure the list of burials are accurate at Westlawn.

RE: Silvers in Westlawn Cemetery
Are you referring to Hillside Cemetery when speaking of Grasmere Cemetery?
I wonder also if they were not ones buried in the graveyard behind the prison for women? There was the Hillsborough County Hospital there prior and county farm. I do not know if you have been there, but the headstones only have #'s on them. I believe when I went up there, the stones went up to 762. Some of the children may be buried there.

RE: Westlawn Cemetery
I noticed George's death record was the only one that stated Westlawn Cemetery.
I need to go to the Town Hall anyway to TRY to get a copy of their map vs the Historical Society's map. The Historical Society renamed the sections for the purpose of their inventory. Maybe they will have something on the Silvers that is not listed on their listings. I will let you know. I live 10 minutes from there.

RE: Westlawn Cemetery
I was not trying to imply you put the memorials in for no reason. I was just making you aware there is no record with the town of Historical Society. This of course does not mean they are not buried there and a mistake was not made on their part.

Westlawn Cemetery
I have completed cataloging Westlawn Cemetery in Goffstown and in the process of photographing the cemetery with others, and can not locate the Silvers you have listed memorials for.

I have cross referenced the town and the Historical Society Records for burials, and all the Silvers you have entered in at Westlawn are not buried there as far as the lists go.

The only two Silvers listed and are William and Laura Silver and they are in Section K-4-1. I am thinking they may be buried in one of the New Boston Cemeteries. I know they are not in the Hillside Cemetery in Grassmere either.

Let me knoe if I can help in any way.

Clayton Silver 133779069
You asked "was his last name really Silver?" The last name of the the man credited with being Clayton's father does not determine Clayton's last name. Clayton used the name Silver; US Census records, Vermont death records, Lakeview Cemetery records, and his obituary all identify him as "Clayton Silver".
Best regards - Deb
