Jesse Reynolds #45191761
Thank you for the great biographical information you included in the memorials for Jesse Reynolds and my grand great aunt Wellmet Lamb Reynolds. It's a rare find and provided me with information that I did not know. I have a question abt them being disowned for disunity. Did that occur while they were transitioning through Indiana or when they finally settled in Illinois? I'm researching Wellmet and want to get it right. Again, many thanks for your fine work. gb

A.L. STETSON (Alonzo)
According to cemetery records A.L Stetson and Alonzo Stetson are the same person but there are 2 different memorial pages for him as if he were 2 different people.

Alonzo 66922063

A.L 66937545

If you are to remove one, I would recommend removing the 66922063 Alonzo one bc someone else has photo requested for A.L which I have completed and he has submitted some edits to that page.

Union Cemetery, Uhrichsville, Ohio
Hello,, I have copies of the entire cemetery and also Gnadenhutten, Ohio. I have been doing genealogy over 40+ years and I took on the task of digitizing my home town cemetery, It is a labor of love and is coming along very nicely, We have hand scanned all the records we could find there, Interned, Maps, Lot and layouts, Deeds etc. We are working on making a searchable database by name, dates, locations etc.
If I can help you in any way in those two cemetery's, please ask.

Happy to hear you liked my sponsorship of this Find A Grave memorial of our mutual ancestor.
AND absolutely---I agree 100%---that when attaching a Find A Grave photo to a family tree on (or elsewhere) I always credit both Find A Grave and photographer.

Sarah "Perkins" Packard (41916229)
While researching the Packard family, I found in Brockton VRs that she's buried in Melrose Cemetery, Brockton. Do the records at Thompson say otherwise? Thanks!

Thank you for letting me know about my error. Somehow I mixed Ora with information about James' first wife. I've made the correction and really appreciate the information.

RE: Nicely Done! Elisha Dunbar
I found that I was speaking of Elisha Dunbar. We probably are related. He is my ancestor. I haven't found enough proof to add his son Jacob (also my ancestor) and Jacob's wife, Hannah (Randall) Dunbar. I have all the information on Jacob except exactly where he was buried in Bridgewater, MA. I don't know the location of where Hannah died. Do you have any suggestions for me? I see your name on many of my ancestors. My # is 48331425. Thanks, Billie.

In 1880, Sylvester was single and living with the children of Sherman. Maybe his first wife died, and he remarried to Ada, who also died. I don't think that's out of the question, do you? U know there's a huge age difference, but it did happen.

RE: sherman scofield
Sherman Sr. built our first City Hall about 1848. We have photos, but it was torn down in 1992. I know that I have read that he was the contractor for other buildings, too. I will see what we have on him. Have you ever been to Connersville? The Scofield and Thomas (?) families share the only vault in the old City Cemetery. It is under a mound of earth. The story is told that his daughter knew she was dying, and she asked that they not bury her in the ground. (I see very little distinction between a mausoleum under a pile of earth and a grave, but to each his own.) Where do you live?

I have always been fascinated with Sherman, for some reason. Maybe because I didn't see the wisdom of razing the oldest government building in town. Silly me. Anyway, let's stay in touch. I will send you any info I can find on them, but it will have to wait until after I finish the taxes.

So excited to talk with you!

RE: Nicely Done!
I apologize. I thought the system would tell you which record I was talking about. I believe it was a Mayflower passenger. I tried to go back and find it, but I looked at 50 of my pioneer ancestors today. I was so impressed because even though there was not actually records to attach to, a lot information was included.

RE: sherman scofield
I will try to check some records here, also. If he married Ada, it would have been very brief. She died at 25 in 1880, and is buried with her family. Her family lived across the county line in Rush County, Indiana, and the Scofields lived in adjoining Fayette County. I can check the Rush and Fayette County marriages.

Thanks for your help! Look forward to hearing from you.

sherman scofield
I live in Fayette County, Indiana. Found an Ada Dawson Scofield in Old Orange Cemetery here. Do you know if she was the first wife of Sherman Scofield II? I have always been intrigued with Sherman the original because of his history of contracting some of the oldest buildings in Connersville. He stone says Ada Dawson wife of S. Scofield. 1855 - 1880. She was the daughter of Noah Dawson.
