RE: Woodford
Bird and Blanche's three children were:
Joseph Woodford 11 Mar 1899-16 Mar 1979 married to Lora Jane Hague, Nellie Woodford 11 Apr 1902-03 Aug l960 married to Ralph Walton Gill, Edna May Woodford 06 May 1910-05 Sep 1994 married to Irvil Floyd Garvin.

Joe and Lora lived a little farther west of his parents on the opposite side of the road. I think Nellie and Ralph lived uptown in Caldwell. Edna and Irvil lived out at Three Forks, pass Fern Woodford's store.

I think I need to run a copy of my Woodford relatives and send to you, because I have several generations after Bird and Blanche and other Woodfords like Lulu Fern Porter and Lawrence Leslie Woodford's family, that is another grandson of Allen Moses'. Also Frank Woodford's family also another grandson of Allen Moses. Send me your mailing address in a private email if you don't want it in a public message on here. My email is vallhala5252@aol.com

RE: Woodford
Sorry my mistake his name was William Tilden Woodford,1876-1949, son of Allen Moses and Phebe Webber Woodford and grandson of Aranda Moses and Mercy Wheeler Woodford. So he married my 2x great aunt, Blanche Dutton, sister of my great grandma, Rosa Jeanette Dutton Dixon, but he was also the grandson of my 3x great aunt, Mercy Wheeler, daughter of my 3x great grandfather Edward Wigglesworth Wheeler.

RE: Tuttle's
I have some pictures of Bird Woodford and Blanche Dutton Woodford. Most were taken on their 50th anniversary party at their house just west of the Hunky Dory School House. Everyone called him Bird but his name was Tilden Woodford. As I tell everyone I must be related to 85-90% of Noble County. The Woodord married into my Wheelers and also married into my Duttons. My aunt Sylvia Dennis Bryan passed away this spring and she had my grandma's pictures. The family is getting together sometime this summer to look at all the pictures hoping there are lots of all sides of ancestors. I will gladly make copies or every send some to an email of you want a copy of Bird and Blanche. Blanche was my grandma Clara Dutton-Gessel Dennis' aunt. My great grandma Rosa Jeanette Dutton Dixon and Blanche were sisters.

Ezra and Hulda Dennis Tuttle
Janice

Ezra and Hulda Tuttle are buried in Olive Cemetery in Caldwell, OH. Ezra's second wife, Virginia Dennis is also buried there. Virginia was Hulda's sister in law. Hulda's brother John, Virginia's first husband, is buried in Virginia. After Hulda died Ezra and Virginia married.

Elsie M Woodford
Can you verify something for me? Elsie, wife of Charles Woodford, wasn't she a King instead of a VanFleet? I have her as the daughter of David Radcliff King and Mary M Tuttle King. Mary is my 1st cousin 2x removed. Elsie's grandparents were Ezra Glenn Tuttle and Hulda Jane Dennis Tuttle. Hulda was my granddad's aunt.

Also Elsie VanFleet married Harley Woodford and they had children according to my records.

Rabbit's Hill
Heddlesons in Pleasant City Cemetery
The only marker I found in the cemetery was a family marker for Heddleson. There were no individual markers. I could not verify so I did not post. I will keep the pic on file.

Hi Janice! If you replied, I did not receive a notice and can't find it. However, I mentioned this book to my mother and she went through a box of my grandmother's and found a copy!! Neither of us had ever seen it before.
I'm sure I'll come up with a question on the Scott's before I'm finished researching. Taking a break and cataloging some photos right now.
...until later! Terri

Joseph Woodford (1645-1710)
He is an extremely distant relative through many marriages of my 2nd cousin 4x removed. He is not directly related to me. And I am researching him anyway for the family tree.
His memorial indicates that he died 10 Dec 1710. There is a note in the memorial that a Brooke Harlowe thinks he was born closer to 6 Nov 1710. But I have a very different take on his death.
His will was probated on 25 Oct 17110, if the note is correct. As a matter of law, no will is or can be probated until the author has died. He could not possibly have died in November or December after the probate hearing.
Depending in the size of his estate and the length of time it took for the estate to be accounted for, debts collected, debts paid, etc., Joseph could have died as early as 11 Dec 1701 (the day after the date on his will) up until 24 October 1710 (the day before the probate date but extremely unlikely).
Interesting side note - 25 October 1710 was a Saturday

Thomas Scott heritage
Hi Janice!
Thank you so much for all the information you have listed here on the Scott family. Thomas Scott is my 4xgreat-grandfather.
A couple of questions -- you mention a book by Ada Zelma Scott Stace on the Hugh Scott family. How would I find a copy of that; when was it written; and/or does it talk about Thomas' parents immigration to America?
Have you tried to link them back to Ireland?
Thank you and have a wonderful day,

Rebecca Fishel
I believe only Rebecca's children; Catherine, John, Philip, Elizabeth, Mary and Sarah should be listed in Rebecca's memorial. Philip Fishel's eight children by his second wife, Catherine Trenner, should be listed in her memorial. I am a descendant of Frederick Secrist. What is your Secrist connection?

Rebecca Fishel
I see that Rebecca has been linked to her parents and the birth dates of sons John and Philip have been updated. I have two edits out for correction and link to parents for her daughters Sarah #34393593 and Mary #19410369. I have no info for daughter Elizabeth other than her birth date and husbands name. There is no memorial for daughter Catherine but I will create one for her and the infant Fishel memorial should be deleted.

RE: Question
Janice - At the moment I'm not sure what all she has...I'm going through the (about 40) boxes of materials a little bit at time...and I MIGHT run across something...as I did with the Hoopman's. Elijah is a 2nd cousin 3x removed to me...so yes, he is a relative, but not close. I would be glad to accept his memorial if you would like to transfer, but it is not necessary. Just for your interest my connection to Apraham Thomas SECREST 1870-1938 is a 4th cousin 2x removed and Michael SPAID 1795-1872 is a 1st cousin 5x removed.

Re: Old Hoopman Cemetery...it is now called Ball's Grove Cemetery and is a few miles from Bethlehem Church and Cemetery...when my mother was there in 1968 and 1982 she said it looked like an old cow pasture. I have placed some of her pictures with the Ball's Grove Cemetery description. Look closely at the writing around the pictures and you will see a map of sorts to its location. I do not know if she copied ALL the tombstones there or just the Rogers line tombstones as I have pictures of the Rogers Tombstones. It does appear to be an inactive cemetery...for about the last 100 years...so not sure what condition it is in now. IF you have a chance to locate it and take more pictures of it now, that would be wonderful. I live in Arizona so it is a bit difficult for me. Thanks, Jeri

RE: Hoopman's
I'm sorry I was not clear. I DO know where the Old Hoopman Cemetery (Ball's Grove) is..even if I've never been there...my mother was and copied tombstones in 1968. I just wondered if you could tell WHEN the memorial was placed. If it was placed after the 1950's then it is possible that Elijah and wife are not actually there, but are in Hoopman Cemetery as per my mother. (She is now in memory care and doesn't remember much). It's just a question of interest...but not critical. Thanks, Jeri

Janice, As I am going through my mother's 65 years of genealogy (only partly organized), I came across information that states Elijah B. Hoopman and Mary E. Thompson Hoopman were buried on the Hoopman Ohio burial lot. I assume that is at Ball's Grove AKA Old Hoopman Cemetery. Do you know if the monument to them was placed at a later time and a different cemetery because no one knew WHERE the family plot was? What do you think? I do not see that Christian Hoopman 1825-1852 or Catherine Hoopman 1826-1853 are in the same cemetery as Elijah. My information says they were ALL buried in the same lot. I have added Christian and Catherine to the Old Hoopman Cemetery since I found them unlisted on Find A Grave.
PS. I am guessing we are distantly related as the Spaid and Secrest lines tie into my Rogers line. Jeri

Mary Dyer
Janice, I found a Mary A. (wife of H.) Dyer for which there is a photo request. However..the date is off. She definitely died in 1880 at the age of 70 years.

Dudley records show only ONE Mary Dyer.

Do you want me to upload it or email it to you so you can check it out first?

Hi Janice,

I'm sorry, but your message somehow ended up in my junk mail, so I didn't see it until now. No, I am sorry, but I have no photos of the Scott family. My Mother never even knew in her lifetime that she was descended from this family.

I will mark "Find a Grave" as "not junk mail," so hopefully, I will hear from you and others in the future.

Just for interest's sake, have you been able to locate any photos of this family? Many thanks. Suzanne M Carnes.
p.s.- I am on Ancestry.com, if you'd like to contact me there.

RE: Mary Elizabeth Tilton
I am questioning those children or at least their birth years. Another thing on G A's stone it looks like his birth year is 1843 not 1848. But if he had a son born in 1858, Geo would have only been 10 years old. Even if 1843 he would only be 15 years old.

Another thing I was wondering, it looks like she married again because on the stone her name is Mary E Tilton Goodwill, 1852-1928. Guess another trip down and probably to the courthouse to check.

Did you move from Ohio?

G A Tilton
Janice I added a picture. I have some questions. M E Tilton is also on the stone along with the name Goodwill and dates of 1852-1928. I assume his wife, Mary Elizabeth Tuttle Tilton! Apparently she married a second time to a Goodwill, do you have any info on that?
