RE: O'Brien Monumet
Did you notice the others on the monument? I listed them on the captions of the large photos.

I'm sorry to hear about Ned.

George Lawrence and Barbara are both buried at Mt. Pisgah and, yes, there are two markers for Barbara. The two markers are side-by-side in the old section of the cemetery. I do not have any young pictures of George and Barbara. The huge family picture taken around 1905-08 is the first picture I have found. We have individuals taken later. Of course, Barbara died a few years after the large group picture. My brother, my wife, and I made a trip to Grenada, Mississippi and found the family history. We visited Sparta United Methodist Church and cememtery where George's parent and several of his siblings are buried. Beautiful little country setting.

Were you present at Mike and Nancy's party about 5 or 6 years ago? I was there with my wife and mother. It seems that I remember a Ned Ellsworth being mentioned.

I'm not sure exactly which George Vance you mention. I am related to George Lawrence Vance who is buried at Mt Pisgah Cemetery located in Wood County Texas, near the community of Pine Mills. He died in 1928.

Feel free to copy the photos on the memorial for the other names on the stone. I also saved the pictures on my computer in case you want me to send them directly to you for that purpose.

Wish you could visit this cemetery personally. It is the essence of the grand ole Southern cemetery minus the damage done during the war. We took the photo some years ago hoping to preserve data on someone's family. That person must be you. So glad to hear your elected to sponsor this memorial.

Thank you so much for taking this picture and posting it for me. It was only recently that I discovered that he and his family had moved from Napa, CA to Houston, when I found his obituary. I just could not get to the cemetery. This helps so much. Thanks again. Jan
