Sue, thank you so much for the photos. If you get back out there and the headstone has been cleaned could you possibly let me know when it's posted? Your time and kindness is greatly appreciated.

RE: Photo of grave marker for Hilda Cleveland Houston
So very sorry to hear of your loss, but very proud you got it back- less the money I'm sure?
I lived in Albany 1968-1972 (Naval Air Station). It was such a good community back then. I've been back 2-3 times in the past 3 years, and from what I hear it is a much different environment- sad.

Thanks for all you do in Find A Grave, and have a great day.

Thank you!
Thank you so much for taking this photo for me. This is my husbands grandfather who passed away when he was a young child. Now I can confirm his birth and death dates for my genelogy research.
Thanks again!

RE: Bryant of south west Georgia
Thanks very much for the information, Sue. It is sad how little I have known of this side of the family over the years. Joseph Bryant's death date matches up from my memory of us going with my grandparents to his funeral and I recall Aunt Bettie, at Mom's service last month, referring to her mother as Annie Bell. One thing I find intriguing, and I see it in photos of the graves of my Morey relatives in Mitchell County, Ga as well, is those slabs over the graves themselves. Around here, you about have to go to graves from the mid 1800s and back to find those slabs covering them. Makes me wonder if they were just for decoration or for another purpose, to protect the grave. There's always something to research. Thank you again. I am sorry it appears that we are not related though. My family has little interest in this area of study, sadly.

RE: Bryant of south west Georgia
Due to my health, I fear this last trip to Albany and Lee County may have been my last, unfortunately. If it had not been for Mom's memorial service, I probably would not have driven down this time. I will toss out the name Bueford Cleveland Marlin Bryant though. He was Mom's dad, b. 1936, died in 2010 in Bartow, Florida but I believe came from the south west Ga area (Thomas/Mitchell County) area/ He has a sister now living in or near Cairo. Another sister, Bettie (m. name Schie) lives in Thomasville now. I saw Bueford twice in my life that I can remember. One was at his dad's funeral in south west Georgia in 1988, the other in 1993 when my grandmother (his ex wife) died. This past trip was my first time meeting Aunt Bettie. Do these names ring any bells?

RE: Crown Hill requests
Valentine may not be marked but she is there. Her parents Flemings are in Section R and she would be by them. Her name was Gigi and I graduated with her. A live in boyfriend beat her to death. It was so sad, she left a 17 year old daughter.
