RE: John McD Anderson
From mt research, I found that John McDowell Anderson who died on 17 May 1889 in Collins, Ohio was actually buried in Townsend Cemetery, in Townsend Township, Huron County, Ohio. I found an article on his death in the Daily Register newspaper in Sandusky, Ohio dated 22 May 1889. I can scan it an email it to you if you want it. It is quite lengthy for the time. If the headstone arrived in Norwalk and was then taken to Collins, it is unreadable, lost or broken over the years. I was hoping there was one for his wife. What I found was that his wife was Annie. I didn't find one for her either. I talked with the Townsend Township Fiscal Officer. The records are gone. There may be a possibility that a replacement military headstone could be obtained and placed there. If you would like to discuss this with them, here is the number for William Messenburg, the fiscal officer, 419-668-7625. He was going to discuss this with the other township trustees. Sorry I am unable to help you more.

RE: Ansel Frost
I added a memorial for Samantha Frost. I have dates but not where she was buried. She died the year before Ansel. She must be at Woodlawn since she died here in Norwalk also. I need to check the records for her as well. There is no listing for her in our book. Right now I have the burial as unknown. Thanks!

RE: Ansel Frost
You are welcome. I took close up photos but they didn't turn out very good. Going to try that again. Interesting note: A son(Clarence Adelmer Frost) of Ansel Frost and Samantha Jones married a relative of mine, Hannah E. Smith. They had one son, Clay Abel Frost. Hannah died young, in 1880. Clarence Adelmer Frost allowed adoption of Clay Frost to the mother's sister & her husband, Alma & Luzerne Amsden. Alma had no children of her own. Another note: Luzerne Amsden is also related to me. Clarence Adelmer Frost moved to Michigan and remarried. He used the name Delmer C. but signed the adoption paperwork as Clarence Adelmer Frost.

E. Robert Malone
RE: George Bowman
According to the records book I checked, it appears that he probably did have a marker at one time; it may have been a separate stone or it could have been a now weathered away inscription on the family monument. But, I could not locate any sign of him today.

RE: Thank you
I have a copy, thanks, I've read a lot of it and made notes about my gg-grandfather's service. He was a cobbler and repaired the officers boots to earn extra money to send home to his family.

Memorials at Stones River National Battlefield Cemetery
I took several photos this morning and just got through posting them on the memorials that I had claimed. Two of them did not have the correct plot numbers on them. I submitted changes on them. I had written down the names with plot numbers, Odell, John E...no such plot as K-92, found him in H-2971. Odell, Milton, G-320..same thing, found him in C-1219. Sometimes it takes a little detective work...

Dave, The information came from The Roll of Honor,Vol. XI, Page 291. I do not know if you can find it on-line, however if you have Ancestry you can find it there. I have the 27 Vol set. This Roll of Honor was put out by the US Quartermaster Dept, in 1866. Ted
