The Blackstone Family
Hi! Kathy
Because of the fire in 1926 the markers were most likely all destoyed. But the Husband & Father was a Mason & has a stone marker. Would it be possible to get a photo of the area (lot) they're in, around his grave with his in the photo also? This way something is posted to their memorials. Then other volunteers wouldn't be repeating the same request.

This is a list of the whole family:
William Henry Blackstone Jr. #106645300
Sarah Jane (Hicks) Blackstone #155510494
Frank A. Blackstone #160697134
William Thomas V. Blackstone #155510144

Thank you for your precious time & help. Have a safe & enjoyable time photos. Take care & God bless.

Sarah Jane (Hicks) Blackstone #155510494
I just found out that a fire in 1926 destoyed records & grave markers. There may be only a Funeral Home record to state she was buried there & most likely if she was she is next to her husband,
William Henry Blackstone Jr. #106645300. I don't know if it's a guy or gal who responded to me, I forgot to ask, but their name is Kerry Rae Smith Moser. Apparently they have been documenting as many of the Funerasl home records to the memorials as best they can. Thank you for your time & help.
Have a great day tomorrow. Take care & God bless.
Kathy
PS Now that I think about it Kerry Rae sounds like a gal's name.

You posted marker pic..

on the plot map this grave is marked as "unknown"..

It is next to Milo Boland; because of the size, I am wondering if this is a child of Milo and Rugna... although I haven't been able to find any info of them having one, or losing one..

I could find birth info for children of Frank..

Wondering if you have any insight?

Spring
I think we should plan a nice warm sunny day in the spring and meet up at the Colfax Cemetery. I have a poker stick, and I might be able to come up with a metal detector also..

Warren Wiseman
I sent an email to James, the sexton at Garfield.. will let you know what he comes up with.. usually there is another funeral record, showing the removal.. I haven't come across one, and I've gone through all the Bruning Records from 1875-1916..So if he was moved, I assume it was after 1916...the only way to figure it out, is research..

RE: John Edgar Wiseman 146397177
I can't delete them from the plot map.. it shows that the entire Wiseman plot is full of burials. You would have to discuss that with Bruning Funeral Home.

Will have to do further research on this. The cemetery district is interesting is buying back any unused graves.

The plot owner is John Wiseman.. which one of the 3 John Wiseman's that it shows are buried there, is the trick...

RE: Manchester Plot at Colfax
We have been working on Colfax for 2.5 years. Currently I am adding the plot info from the plot maps.

I sent an edit for their plot info. Then I came across the Manchester Family Plot, that has 2 boys in it, I wondered if they were one and the same.

The cemetery records were destroyed in a wild land fire in 1926. The cemetery plot maps were then redrawn from memory by the cemetery workers. The records kept in the cabin only go back to 1926.

The first burial was Mrs. Wilks in 1873. We are working with the Bruning burial records, (which go back to the first burial) dc's, and the old newspapers (which go back to 1888) in order to piece it all back together.

The plot map has Infants Manchester in Block 4, Lot 45, Grave 6.

Jerry and Lyle Manchester are buried in the Manchester Plot. Both being children but not infants.

I was hoping you were related and could clarify it. No I am not related, although I have many relatives there who are.

Manchester Plot at Colfax
I am wondering if this is your family?

The plot map has Infants Manchester in Block 4, Lot 45, Grave 6..

I am wondering if they the same as Jerry and Lyle Manchester? although they certainly weren't infants? and are not listed as being buried in the Manchester plot, as least by name, the infants share the same grave.. and it looks like Jerry and Lyle do also.
