William Burbridge Stone, Lena IL
Hello, All...
I am a direct descendant of the William and Elizabeth Burkhart Burbridge listed in the information on that stone's page.

William, who married EIizabeth, passed away in Sangamon Cty, IL in 1825 or 1826. This is why he is not listed on the 1830 census at all, let alone as head of household. Elizabeth is HOH on the 1830 census as further evidence.

Also, William's father Thomas did NOT marry and Underwood. This has been a false bit of data for decades and decades. I don't know where the rumor got started, but it's not correct information.

There is an Underwood/Burbridge marriage, but it is another branch of the family, and if memory serves me right, another generation....

If any questions...
Thank you!

beckes of Lena IL area
I'm trying to relate all the Becke's in this area to our G grandparents Charles Becke b. 1828 and his daughter Charlotte Becke b 1858. Any info you may have would be great.

Hi! Can you please call the cemetery and obtain the grave location (Section & Lot numbers) and ask them whether or not there is a grave marker? Please post this information to the memorial or send it to me.

Forest Home Cemetery: 708-366-1900 or 773-287-0772

Forest Home is a huge cemetery with well over 70,000 burials, and the information is needed in order to find someone there. I go here regularly, and since August I have found over 150 graves at Forest Home that had the location information provided. Thank you! Ace

David Altenbern
Diane, I am so grateful for the photo of David and Anna Altenbern's tombstone David has been my longest running brick wall ever since I started doing genealogy! I see you have his parents listed; do you know what the source was for them? I have tentatively listed Charles and Caroline Altenbern as his parents in my files, but have been frustrated by not being able to find any records to prove it definitively. I would be thrilled if it could be proved once and for all!

I would be interested in having the memorial page transferred if you wish; I am his great-great-granddaughter, member # #47769220.

Mary C. Ozburn
Hi. I saw a photo of a gravemarker located in the Lena Memorial Burial Park for Mary C. Van Matre Ozburn. Her parents are listed as Morgan and Susanna Van Matre. Do you remember where you found your information regarding her parents?

My g-g-g-grandparents, Thomas Jefferson and Matilda Ann Matthews Van Matre had a daughter, Mary C. (born in Stephenson County, IL in 1838) that I have never been able to locate.

Thank you for you help.

RE: Sarah Pickard
I found a interesting message board.

Sarah Pickard McDonald,(25 May 1874, Stephenson, Illinois) was living in NYC 1949, she was listed as a surviving member, on an Obit.

I knew she was on the 1940 census living in Suffolk County, with her family.

I married a distant relative of yours, so I have been doing her early mennonite ancestors in this area to Lancaster, PA. We live in michigan, but spend vacations here where many early graves are. If you ever travel here we could show you around or my 86 year old father in law. Sincerely, Kirk Vredevelt

Thank you so much for your help and the speed of your assistance. I am working to get Sons of American Revolution off the Jacob Grossman line and these will be very helpful. I have also been working with Lena Historical Society. Lena has a lot of very nice people. Thank you once last time.

Thank you so much for creating the memorial and adding the tombstone photo of my 3rd great grandmother, Rachel Hartsough Pecht. I discovered you added this via a Google alert. I knew she had to be buried in Stephenson county, but I didn't know where. What a blessing to find this at last!
