By the way . . .
I think you might have interest in memorial # 79707339 , which is that for James Cherry.

Yes, I will be correcting the translations on the memorial. I see the translator made one omission, perhaps a colloquialism was inscribed? I wonder if "ERRI." means "error," or "died by mistake," since it was an accidental death. I am not certain why the number of dead varies, but wonder if some died within the following days from smoke inhalation, black damp, or other injuries. It has been awhile since I have read accounts of the disaster. May I enquire about your interest? Are you a descendant of a miner, or writing about the incident? Thank you, again, for the assistance with translation. By the way, I hope you have noticed that other miners' Find A Grave memorials also have errors. I don't know how easy it will be to get them corrected.

Yes! I do agree! Thank you so very much for your assistance in obtaining a proper translation. I was messing with Google Translator, but considering asking one of the old local Italians to help with it. I have entered all three names and will work on getting the transcription corrected. Have you seen the two Nanni memorials ( father and son, died in Cherry Mine) in the same cemetery? I have been struggling with the inscription on their monument, also, though I think I have their names right. Any chance you might be able to get a translation for their memorials, too??? Memorial # I111647038. I would really appreciate it! Thank you, again!

RE: Francesco (Ladd Ill)
I have posted a photo of the inscription, which gives definition to it. You will have to click beneath those photos visible on the memorial page, where it says, "click here to see all photos" in order to view it. I am still working on the translation. The monument memorializes two miners--Gaetano Francesco and Julio Sorbelli. That is not unusual for victims of that tragedy, perhaps done to share the expense of a monument, or so friends could be buried together.

RE: Alfred Wagner
I'm sorry I don't have further information on Mr. Wagner. Perhaps the cemetery office could provide additional details on him or whoever else might be in the same family plot.

Thank you so very much, Billy, for the wonderful photos of my Uncle Paul's marker and location! I appreciate your kindness so very much.

I do not yet have control of my Aunt Helen's memorial (she is Paul's wife), but could you add your photos to her site, also? Her memorial is #26208832. I could just copy your photos and add, but you deserve to have the credit for the photos.

The person who added Aunt Helen's grave is inactive, but Find-a-Grave has not yet responded to my request to transfer her memorial to my care.

Hugs across the miles,
Saralyn Smith

Dear Billy,

My heart is heavy with gratitude. Thank you for taking pictures of the above mentioned headstones found in Lakeview Memorial Park. Do you think it possible to upload the headstone of Caroline "Carrie" Virginia Robinson again? While I received a notification that it had been added, I can't seem to see it.

Thank you once again. My family is humbled by your generosity.
