George Giesick
Hello Marilyn,

Sorry for the very late reply on your requests. Due to lack of time and so many requests it is hard to complete them all in a timely basis. Also I have been off line for a very long time due to personal reasons.

Thank you for the information and family connections for George Giesick. I have added it to his memorial.

Richard M Thomas
I think he is the son of Alfred A and Orpie Thomas because he is buried in Iowa and his brother William Perry Thomas is also buried in Iowa.

Linda Holland
Hoping you can help
I am trying to find some information about my grandparents.
My grandmother was Anna Margaret Uhl
She was born Aug 20, 1890 in Russia.
Her father was William Brethauer.
Her mother was Barbara Geisick.

Grandmother Anna married Henry John Uhl.

I know that they had lived in the Greeley Colorado area for awhile.

Grave memorial # 67709136 for Elizabeth Brethauer Geisick may be my grandmothers sister?
Have you heard of Anna, or Henry Uhl?

RE: Wrong Information?
Julia and Willaim Sparks are my great-grandparents. Their daughter, Nancy Jane Sparks, was my grandmother. Nancy's son, Ralph, was my father. This is my lineage. I have names and dates going back pretty far for both sides of my family.
What would you like to know? Anything in particular? Are you related?
I have information from other family members, but I'm just starting to look into this myself. It's my quest over this summer to visit gravesites and websites, and hopefully find more information. I've found a couple of wrong dates, a wrong middle name, and now this wrong burial place.
The line going back through my grandmother Nancy Sparks ends way before any of my other grandparent's lines. I believe this is because there is quite a bit of Native American blood in that line, and perhaps the record keeping wasn't as good. I'd like to find that connection.

Wrong Information?
My great grandparents, William Thomas Sparks and Julia Morris Sparks, are listed on as having been buried in Edgewood Cemetery, Chillicothe, Missouri. However, I visited their graves this past Memorial Day in Hurricane Cemetery, Hale, Missouri. I'm not sure where the discrepency comes into play, but I'd really like this cleared up.

RE: Liberty Cem, Lindley Twsp, Mercer Co, Missouri
Actually Phil & Kathi (#6411871)took the photographs of Alfred & Elizabeth (HELTON) THOMAS not me. They have photographed several graves in Mercer and Harrison Counties. Most of their earlier work will appear on the USGenWeb pages for both counties. I know quite a few of the families up around the northern part of the boundary both counties share: Clay & Madison Twsps in Harrison County and Lindley & Harrison Twsps in Mercer County and add Hamilton Twsp, Decatur Co, Iowa to that. Most of my ancestors in that part of the stateline area and their immediate relatives lived in one of those three townships.

Liberty Cem, Lindley Twsp, Mercer Co, Missouri
Be advised that Liberty Cem, Lindley Twsp, Mercer Co, Missouri was affiliated with the Liberty Methodist Episcopal Church. I think the church was founded in the 1860s not sure but it disbanded in the 1980s (basically several of the members died off and my Uncle and Aunt started going to the Baptist Church in Princeton, Morgan Twsp). Liberty Church herself was arsoned around the early 1990s. The cemetery is surrounded by private property and for years was hard to get too during heavy rains but now the owner of the surrounding land built a road to it after he was convinced that better access would be less headaches for him and people trying to visit their family.

Yuma County, Colorado: The KINDRED family also had members of their family move their from Mercer County. There were also SLOVER descendants move to Colorado from Mercer Co, Missouri.

Unlike Colorado, a western state, and most of her other sister southern states, Missouri has political townships. She is one of four states (the others being Indiana, Iowa and Arkansas) where by a city cannot be independent of the political township as is the case in most of the northern states (Ohio, Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Illinois, and the western state of Kansas). The only exception to this rule in these four states is the city of Saint Louis, Missouri which in 1876 voted to succeed from Saint Louis County [thereby locking herself in to her then boundaries which is why Kansas City, Missouri is larger today].
