I'm going to be on vacation until the 20th. I will definitely take at look at the information you provided when I get back.

Thanks for being in touch!

The "&c" appears in the original obituary in "Friends Review". The phrases preceding "&c" are from Psalms 103:14 (King James Version). It is likely that the writer of the obituary figured the the readers would be familiar enough with the passage that s/he didn't need to waste five more lines of type quoting the whole passage--and abbreviated "&c".

Done. BTW, you helped me fix up my Kistler Tree in Ancestry.com. Wow, did they have big families with the same first names. Easy to mix up.

Alexander Diefenderfer
Thanks so much for the information you provided for Alexander. Here's bit more that might "complete" the picture you've provided.

Full name: Johann Alexander Dubendorfer. He married his first wife, Anna Elizabeth Mack, probably in Schriesheim, Germany in 1725. The children you mention are by this marriage. Anna Elizabeth died sometime between the birth of son Alexander in 1733 and father Alexander's remarriage to Gertraut/Gertrude Leidig in 1747.

Anna Elizabeth's grave is unknown but presumed to be located in Great Swamp Church Cemetery.

Alexander died at home and was definitely buried at Great Swamp, presumably next to his first wife. The exact location is also unknown.

Best wishes and thanks for your hard work.

Hi, Cindy!
I made the changes you suggested. Thanks for the birth year correction. You know, of all the ones I have added since becoming a member of this site last November, this is the first year date mistake I have been caught with. Usually I catch them since I have added over 13,000 photos in the past few months. But thanks for catching it as I do like as much accuracy as possible when doing memorials. And I am always willing to transfer a memorial that is not part of my & my wife's relation. Since Sarah was in Pueblo in 1935 at age 86, I would be willing to bet that she passed away while there. Ancestry.com doesn't reflect it yet, you might have to contact their local library at Pueblo.

Have added the links and transferred management to you. FYI - According to the 1908 Long Beach City Directory he was living at 237 E. 4th St. in Long Beach at the time of his death. The 1909 directory didn't list anyone by the name of Stubbs, so no luck on finding his 2nd wife's name.

Do you know why he is not buried with his wife at Heidelberg? They moved his body, so why not next to his wife? She died 17 years later.

Cindy - As to the transfer, although the years have been good to me, my health is failing. As I edit some of the memorials, especially on the one's to whom someone has posted a personal photo, I'm assuming that they are a relative or at least knew of them and am therefore, transferring them. If you don't mind, why don't you hold Mr. Diefenderfer until perhaps his family asks for him - I'd appreciate it. Many thanks...

Dear Cindy:

I noticed that you are managing the gravestone of Emma C. Krial Lehr. I was wondering whether you are related. Thanks.

Maness Cemetery
Hello, I'm wondering if you are near the Maness Cemetery in Neosho, MO. I'm writing this note as I notice you seem to be the only one that has submitted gravestone photos. When I originally added my Burrs there was a photo of the cemetery. Now there is no longer one so I wrote FindAGrave and there response was: 'Maness Cemetery does not have a "default" photo designated to appear on each memorial in that cemetery. That is a decision made by admin - neither of the photos for Maness qualifies for default status'. I'm not certain what a default photo is but if you can get there I'm asking if you would take a photo of the cemetery that qualifies as a default photo. Thank you so much.

Susannah Ballard
Cindy,
Caleb Kirk and Sarah Garretsos Kirk were my gg grandparents. I have only one reference for Susannah Ballard Baily. I am not sure if she was married to Caleb or not. I show her married to another Kirk. The time line between Sarah Garretson and Hannah McBride do not seem to fit. If I can help with any other questions, please feel free to contact me at stonybarn@yahoo.com
