|Tom Maines||Emma Mains Robinson|
On the Find A Grave memorial for Emma you note she was married "1st to Robert Blackford in Jackson county, Ohio, he was shot on a railroad track." I know he was very young when killed, around 21/22. In the Coalton cemetery there is a memorial for Thelbert Blackford, 69816916, who has a death year date and age consistent with my information on Robert Blackford. Would you happen to have an accurate date of when Robert Blackford was killed? I'd like to see if Thelbert and Robert are one in the same. I will visit Coalton late Aug/Early Sep and will try to follow up.

Once again taking a big trip down to Murray City to visit St. Philip Neri (and purchase goods from inside) and visit the cemetery. Thinking of Dorothy Simon and how she took us to meet your folks. Maybe someday we will cross paths there!

Thanks! Maybe there was some native American heritage in the Nutter family or Mounts family in WV. I would certainly like to find out. I was always told that we were related to President Buchanan, but I have never figured out that link.

Hi, just a note to thank you for the info on findagrave about Peter Lee and his wife Lydia Cheney Lee. The picture was also very interesting. They are my ggg grand parents. Their grand daughter, Sarah Ann Lee, who married George Jeffers was my paternal ggf.
I have always been told that Sara Ann was half Cherokee Indian. Do you have any information on that?

I'm sorta related. I'm related to Madelena Peck, mother of Mary Van Meter who married Hiram Russell.
If you have any additional info, please send it to us and we will be glad to add it to the memorials.
We photograph cemeteries for the use of all genealogists or those looking for their ancestors.

Sandy, I went to the library here in Abilene, TX and looked at the Johnson County, TX Marriages. Eva is listed as marrying John W. Nunn with the marriage date but, no other information. As I said in my previous message, you might can get a copy of the acutal marriage license, etc from the clerk in Johnson Co., TX; most likely, Cleburne. I did write down all the Reeves' marriages if, you need them. Connie

I live in Abilene, TX. I can look at the marriage records but, I doubt it would give the parents. Since, she was only 16 at the time she married John W. Nunn, I would think you might get your answer if, you contact the county or district clerk in Johnson Co., TX (maybe, Cleburne) and get a copy of the marriage license and certificate. I feel that her parents had to sign and give their permission for her to marry.
I've been looking around on Ancestry with absolutely no luck at locating any of the Reeves in Johnson Co. in 1870. That's really weird. Since, he was sheriff, there should be good records on him. I am also thinking the Dallas library might could help you. Also, the newspaper in Fort Worth, Cleburne or Dallas and look for the marriage annoucement. Also, you might try getting a copy of her obituary. Sorry, I haven't been more help but, please keep me in the loop. Connie

I just looked and our library has Johnson Co., TX Marriage Records, Vol. 1 and 2 but, it does not give the dates on the library site. I will go Sat. or Monday and look at the books for you and get back to you. Do you have any idea what year? Connie

I don't get to the courthouse in Johnson County very often and their records are not online. I will tell you, the records from this time are pretty spotty for Johnson County.

Thank you Sandra for the photos of my great grandmother! There are descendants that can be added to your grandfathers listing of brothers and sisters that I can supply but not all of them. After the holidays I will write and give you their names so you can add them to your Grandfather Tom Davis. Have a wonderful holiday....Rita (Robson)Ebner

|Sharon Leon||Order for Reuben Spurgeon headstone|
Thank you, Sandy. This shows that it was ordered. It has been photographed at the Otterbein Chapel Cemetery in the past. It's a simple government issue headstone for a Civil War veteran. Current Findagrave volunteer photographers haven't been able to locate it. I'm guessing that either it's too dirty or weathered to read or it's fallen face down, as happened with two other markers in that cemetery, one of which was turned face up by Penny Taylor and her husband. If I haven't done so, I should post who Reuben was buried near based on the cemetery transcript.

Thank so much for the picture of John's Tombstone. I thought he was in an unmarked grave. I hope he was not one of the ones who fell into the mine below the Cemetery.

Thank You very much. His mother and father are in Gore Cemetery, but not marked. I believe they are in the same area as John's brother Samuel, who died as a result of a mining accident. At one time his grave had a marker, I guess I need to take a trip to that part of Ohio and look around and take some pictures.
Thank You again,
