|Sandra Gwilliam||Thanks for the updates|
Thanks for the updates to Homer Oliver Smith's memorial. Thanks also for adding him to find a grave!
I appreciate your hard work and dedication to helping us find our ancestors. It is so much fun to see virtual family groups and pedigrees of our kin start to link together at find a grave thanks to dedicated volunteers like you. I am sure that your precious mother would be proud of what you are doing.

I hesitate to bother you but I am interested in
your maiden name. I have a John Mackey who married
Mary Porter in the Augusta-Rockbridge area of Virginia. He was born around 1703 and died 1773 and
was instrumental in establishing the Timber Ridge
Presbyterian Church where he is buried. Mary was
the d/o Wm. Porter Sr.b. 1707 and Gean Mackey b. 1711. Children were: Henry m. Eliz. Vance, William m. Eliz. Kennedy and Ann Paul, Jean m. Wm. McCorkle, Esther m. Arthur Walkup, Eliz.(Betsy) m.
William Sutherland Bailey, Mary m. Samuel Wilson.
They were Scots-Irish.

Thanks for putting Aunt Octa's history on Find A Grave site. I am sure she would be happy to know many will be able to read her work. It has been several yrs since I have had read this history. I typed it from her hand written notes and didn't change one thing. I though her granddaughter, Mary Ann, would type it since she was business teacher, but she asked me. Aunt Octa kept a diary for years and I will ask Ouida next time I visit with her if she knows what happened to them. Thanks again. SGG

|Randy Baxter||large, heart-shaped grave marker|
Hi, Carolyn -- I see that you've done some great work logging in many grave markers in the county cemetery at Eagle Pass. Years ago, my recently deceased grandfather Beto recalled having visited the grave of his grandparents a couple of years ago (Crescencio & Cristina Rodriguez, born c.1870s & died in the late-1930s or early-1940s, but not currently listed in FindAGrave), and though he didn't know the name of the cemetery, he said it was the oldest one in Eagle Pass. He was dismayed that it had become quite overgrown and seemingly abandoned. He managed to find his grandparents' grave stone and (this made me cringe) scraped the junk off it with his pocket knife and then used a permanent marker to highlight the incription!
Does the county cemetery fit this description? or is there an older one? Crescencio was a Methodist minister, so I don't think he & his wife would be buried in the Our Lady of Refuge Cemetery (which isn't yet covered very well in Find A Grave). Do you have any ideas? Thanks!

J. O. Hill is my g-grandfather. His daughter, my grandmother, is Pearl Hill Gibbons and buried at Liberty. I would like to get her linked to the family but Troy, who manages her and many in Liberty Cemetery, is inactive. Sarah Gibbons Garton

Thanks so much! I love finding photographs and matching them back to their names; if you have any requests for Baylor staff/alumni or citizens of central Texas, feel free to send me requests and I'll so my best!

I had to cancel because it can take a month or more after burial before there is a marker, but will keep watching for the burial as I am there at least once a week normally. As soon as there is a permanent marker I'll post pics. There are 4 or 5 of us hard at work in Santa Fe photographing the over 50,000 burials, and the number of "oops" ones is relatively small, so please don't hesitate to ask if there is someone you want a picture for. One warning sign is no plot number. If there isn't one then I check on the Dept of Veterans Affairs website for a burial and either send an edit to have the plot number added or report it as in the wrong cemetery.
I have your request for Joe Love on my list and will be going up on Monday. I also tend to pick up any others of the same last name (barring smith etc) so I'll check on the rest of the Love graves while I'm there.

There are dozens of memorials added to Santa Fe by "International Wargraves" that are really buried in Willamette National Cemetery or in Tahoma National Cemetery. Most have memorials listed in the correct cemetery as well. No idea what caused the mix ups.
