Profile Page EDIT Requests
Carolyn, would you mind checking your profile page yo see if my edit requests for my Bentzinger Family memorials came through. I sent them out about 4 days ago and I found anther user that said he didn't receive any from me with in the same date range. In this manner I can resend them if I need to - Please advise.

ID Military in Westlawn-Hillcrest
We are currently working to identify anyone buried in Westlawn-Hillcrest Cemetery Omaha NE that has served in the military. If you have a loved one buried there or know of someone, please send us a message. We place flags on the graves for Memorial Day. This project is sponsored by Centennial Masonic Lodge #326.

If you can send us the names, we will be sure to include them on our list to get a flag.

Thank you for the help with this ongoing project.

If you have already received this message, please accept our apologies for the duplicate message.

RE: Gee Town Cemetery
It is called Simms Hill Road. The map on the Cemetery link shows it. Simms Hill intersects with State Route 13.

Dennis and Cole Families
Thank you so much for documenting my Cole ancestors on Find A Grave and then transferring them to me. I have enjoyed researching the Dennis family with you for over fifteen years (did I get the number right?) -- sharing stories and pictures! Thank you so much for your time, dedication, and laughter. Best, Cousin Sonja

You are very welcome. I also added some other stones for Blawis that were around that stone that were not yet on Find A Grave.

RE: Myrl and Ethel Cunning

Would you like to take over maintenance of their (Cunning) memorials? If so, I will gladly transfer.

RE: Myrl and Ethel Cunning
Hello Carolyn,
No, there is no actual headstone. Only the concrete pad and two concrete mortuary markers. All the written info on the papers inside the markers is gone. Do you know the family? It would be lovely to get a marker for the grave....

You're welcome. I'm sorry I didn't have better news. Highland is a very old cemetery and there are a lot of missing stones.

Looking for a cemetery
We have been trying to find someone that could give us directions to Sheppard cemetery in Huntington Township, Gallia County Ohio. I see that you provided the memorial and picture for Moses Gee and thought that perhaps you could help us.

RE: Williams
it was bittersweet tho. I found all the graves, but there was a stray dog close to the cemetery that was skin and bones. so weak and skinny. I fed her and left all the dog food I had in my truck. I feel so bad for her. but she did enjoy the food..poor thing

Allen Hiskey - Memorial# 40261847
Hi Carolyn,

When I see that someone dies on their birthday, or is born on their death day :-( I always wonder if it might have been a typo or transposition. Forgive me, I'm just like that! Could I ask politely if you have a source for the birth date? Of course there is always a 0.27% chance of it happening.

Off topic, I have a great grand uncle who died in the epidemic like Allen, his family was decimated also. It was a horrible time, PBS 'American Experience' did a documentary on it many years ago. We are all pretty lucky to be here.

RE: Joiner Cemetery
I just googled the cemetery, satellite view from space and it looks like several of the stones are still in their original spots within the fence. I had heard that the state of Illinois has laws protecting early burial grounds. Perhaps you should talk to a lawyer about a "cease & desist" order. Does this Frank have family buried there? I find the whole mess very disturbing to say the least.

RE: Joiner Cemetery
There were three farms on that stretch of Old State Rd. between Route #64 and Five Points Road. They were both west, the Wilson farm on the south side of Old State Rd. and the Swedburg farm on the north side, on the other side of the cemetery. I am still "reeling" from what you told me of the old cemetery's fate, how sad! I'll bet old Ralph Joiner is turning in his grave over that. When we bought stones for my parents graves, they ran about $1,000. each and these were not big stones. Were they planning to buy one small stone for each burial? or one very large stone with all the names of those resting there?
