RE: David Ensz memorial
Wow !!! What a neat picture.

The memories I have of him are at a later age. He was a pretty handsome guy, even then. ;-)

You should have a message regarding the transfer waiting, too !!!!

RE: David Ensz memorial
If you will use the 'edit' section of David's memorial (start with the 'button' on the upper right hand corner), and request it through that channel, I'll be more than happy to transfer management of his memorial to you, and you can add/change details as you see fit.

My efforts were just to catalog the entire cemetery, where many of my relatives are interred, and one in which my own parents had a 'big hand' in creating and sustaining.

David's daughter, LaVonne, is married, as you know to Loren Norberg, whose mother in a sister to my step-grandfather, C. Art Anderson.

Small world, right ?????

Hi -

I live in Florida, but happened to be in the Richey Cemetery taking photos of tombstones of my family members. I checked to see if there were any photo requests and saw yours. I am so delighted I could take this photo for you.

RE: Nicholas Pickrell stone
Wanted to tell you I double checked the cemetery records for Pickerelltown cemetery and there was no listing of burial for any Pickerell stone. That is, that I could find. Taken from records made by the Logan county Genealogical Society about 1982.

Nicholas Pickrell stone
I'm sorry I was unable to find a stone for Nicholas yesterday. The cenetery is rather small and I walked it twice. Remember, his stonbe is 185 years old and as we know those poor old stones seem to wear rapicly, while others weather amazingly well. I'm sorry I couldn't be of help. Arizona Kid

That would be great. I know my mom is interested, but she doesn't spend time on the computer like she used to. Thanks!

RE: Pickrell stones
Mom says: "I'm wondering which of Nathan & Amy Pickrell Lundy's children Charlotte descends from.

"I had some correspondence with Kathy Beauchamp who lives in Princess Anne, MD. on the Pickrell Mailing site years ago. She is a descendant of the Lundy's second child, John Lundy. His wife was Nancy ____, thought to be of Indian blood; very little documentation on that line. John fought in the Black Hawk War. Kathy wondered if anyone had the place of death for Amos Lundy who m. Ann Collins. Conflicting info on that."

RE: Pickrell
P.S. In regard to other stones at Westland Cemetery, my mom told me yesterday that she heard several years ago that a big tree had fallen and smashed some of the stones in the cemetery. That possibly explains what happened to John & Catherine Pickrell's stone.

RE: Pickrell
My mother has done a lot of Pickrell research over the years and asked me to ask you how you are related...

RE: Pickrell
Hi Charlotte,
Actually, I took the photos back in 1991 when I visted Pickrelltown. I looked for John & Catherine's headstones at that time and couldn't find them. There were stones in the cemetery that couldn't be read, due to the writing being worn away. I do believe that John and Catherine are buried in Westland. The stones may be sunken or just illegible.

I wonder if the Deckers came to the Molkerei, that was only a couple miles away from Fairmount. They treated tuberculosis there. I found more info at familysearch for this family. I do not know about the tombstone. Hope this helps.
