Joseph West #111411240
Hello Rose,
Thank you for the info on the West family. I updated Lannie's memorial with the links to her parents. I did not know that the obit had been added. For Joseph, I don't know what source I used for the middle name Walter. I cannot locate my records and could not duplicate the source, so I have removed that from his memorial.

Did you not see the explanation I provided when I declined your change? I did include a comment. And I did add the explanation to the bio on the memorial.

You know, a lot of gravestones have incorrect information. Just because it's "set in stone", so to speak, doesn't mean it's necessarily correct.

You're very welcome. I noticed the CA Death Index had a different date so I added the information to his site.

I'm sorry I haven't been as active on findagrave lately and I find I am confused by your message. I'm always willing to make changes to the memorials. Could you please clarify your information? What was Jennie's maiden name? And was she married to a Mr Hayes first, and a Mr McGlothlin second? Do you have the names of the men she married?

Hello Cherokee Rose,

I'm going to be in Louisville soon and will try to look up the actual obituary and then I'll make the note as you suggested and correct the name per the obituary.

Thank you for the link to spouse, it has been added.

Are you related?

re: Harry Sedore marriage
I now have an Aunt who lives in Mount Pleasant, Henry Co, Iowa. I wonder if the county recorder would have that on file. Gladly pay them five bucks or so.

Thank you for the info (hmmm... Ledore, I suppose I've seen more unusual things).

Hello Cherokee Rose,

Because this lot has no individual markers - I used the Lot Card from the office. Because of that I am leaving the name as is, until another records source can be found, such as marriage or military, etc. Something this person would have answered.

The KY Death Certificate could be the error, the Lot Card would be from other family and the funeral home.

Thank you very much for the input, it is added to the memorial.

re: Harry Sedore marriage to Elizabeth Jane Long
Regarding your note that reads "Harry Sedore and Elizabeth Long were married in Henry County, Iowa." on the memorial for Elizabeth Jane Long Sedore (Find A Grave Memorial# 66001221):

I hope you can back this up with some source information. The family has been unable to discover anything about Harry's marriage to Elizabeth or about her family. Any insight would be appreciated.

Thanks for catching that birth date for Mabel West in Woodland. Marker looks like 1888, but checking cemetery records, the birthdate is 1868. Granite ones gets faded and worn fast. Eyes wearing out reading the markers too.

Again thanks.

Thank you for the suggestion regarding Memorial# 50929048, but both their names and dates are on the same stone; mother on top and daughter on the bottom.

In the past I have made changes to memorials and then someone else tells me the information is incorrect. That makes me a little caution to make changes when no sources are included. When I request information to be update I use the edit button on the memorial and go to "Suggest any other correction or addition". That way I can give the proof for update. Sharon

Hi,

It might have been from an SAC. I used google, and found another transcript that has her last name as Sellzink. I'll make a note on the memorial.

I absolutely love this site! I collect all the photos I take for each cemetery and upload them every few months or so. I also use it to fulfill some photo requests when I cannot get out to the cemeteries to take them on my own (mostly in the winter). These photos are just out there on the website waiting to be united with a memorial that someone took the time to create on findagrave.com so I try to get the two united :) Enjoy!

RE: Evie Angus
Sorry for the confusion-- I referenced the incorrect website. I did fulfill the photo request, but I did not see a need to reinvent the wheel, so I did not actually go over to the cemetery and snap the same photo that photo volunteers had already taken over a decade ago, so I just used the photo that had already been uploaded to our website. If you want to take a look for yourself, you might find this will be your new most favorite site for searching for grave markers. It is www.teafor2.com and you might find yourself spending hours searching thru the various cemeteries we have been photographing for the last 10-12 years :)

RE: Evie Angus
Sorry, but I did not take a trip to the cemetery as my best friend no longer works there to look up the locations of the graves (20,000+ graves at this cemetery). But I did use what was already photographed over a decade ago and uploaded to www.findagrave.com. You can find tons of photos of grave markers there-- Enjoy!

I received the complete request. Due to recent flooding conditions it may be a few days before I can get to the Fair Oak Cemetery. Many roads and bridges were damaged. Gale Yocum

Your request for a picture of the grave of Julia M. Taggart in the Fair Oak Cemetery fails to appear in the Find A Grave website. I live a few miles away from Fair Oak, however, since a request for the picture fails to appear I am unable to fulfill your request. As soon as the request is made, I'll go to the cemetery.
