Have you had any trouble with this Farm Girl about how you take pictures of stones in the LaPlata, MO. Cemetery? I'm asking because she left a friend of mine a nasty Note. Thanks Ken

|LADONNA SANDERS||RE: Uzal Cory|
I have to confess! These photos were given to my mom by her cousin back in 1999. I now have custody of them and thought I would post them as they are at least better than nothing. And I was surprised to see that I fulfilled a photo request--hadn't noticed there was one.
I want to make a road trip to the cemetery in the next few months so hopefully I can get a better shot of the stones. Had I thought it out better, I would have gone there while grass wasn't growing.
It's about 3 1/2 hours away.
So, no, I don't have better photos at this point. I am sorry, I know you are disappointed but hopefully that can be rectified soon.
Uzal is my 3rd great grandfather.

No, it wasn't me who requested a photo for Clint Rose. I have a John Emery married to a Susan Pierson Emery in that cemetery. I have Susan's gravestone photo, but was told that there is no stone for John. My other entries for this cemetery were made from a cemetery listing page.
Thanks for asking, though!

Steve was transferred to you. I'm not one that's thinks you have to be family etc. to make a transfer. Steve was a super cop and a great person. Treat him kindly.

I would love to help you out. This is what I would suggest. Two things, try to get a hold of his death certificate. This would list the place of burial. Also the death certificate would have the place that took care of his arrangements. If the funeral home still exists then you could contact them for confirmation. If all three sources say LaPlata then I could go down and look for the grave for you. I live about 15 miles north of La Plata. I don't know how big the cemetery is but I have a friend that also does photo volunteering and we could walk it together and check for his marker. I just know that sometimes people get missed on those cemetery transcripts. Nobody's fault but sometimes it does happen. Anyway, if you get some confirmation and want me to go down and look come spring please let me know. I'd be happy to try to help.

I am not related. A friend of mine is distantly related to Mr. Stout's sister, Alba Stout Homes. This is what got me to looking at the Stout and Homes families in LaPlata. I requested a photo for Mr. Stout's memorial but was not so politely informed that his grave was not marked. Do you know if that is true or if the plot is just unknown? I just thought family members might like a picture on the memorial. I do that a lot when there isn't a photo on a memorial I run across. I appreciate it so much when I find family that are buried across the country with a photo of a marker I may never otherwise see. Oh well.....Sorry I could not be of more help.

|Jerry Saylor||Luella Rousseau|
My reading of the tombstone is that Luella died 5 Sep 1858 at age 11 y 10 d 6d giving her a birthdate of 26 Feb 1847. Her mother thus would have been 43 years old rather than the improbably high 53 shown on Findagrave.com. Would you agree with this result?

Posted a photo of Marie Coon's marker. Wanted to let you know that the cemetery is actually "ST. Thoma More Cemetery"; I think it might have been Calvary cemetery years ago.

Stacey, Loved the photo of Leonard too. Would it be possible for you at sometime to put more photos of headstones for the Van Patter family on Find a grave? I am a very distant relative through both the McDuffee and Van Patter sides of the family. Thanks in advance for anything you can do. Katherine McDuffee MacIntyre

You are very welcome! those plot #'s were the ticket, 'P' is for Protestant, 7A29 & 7A30 are the plot #'s, I had taken a photo at 7A26 the day before and looked right at the Burleson Stone. Could not read a thing, as it was covered in lichen, a wisk-broom and a little spray bottle with water and there it was!

You are Very Welcome, is there a possibility they might be in another nearby cemetery? There is this one, "Saint Thomas Aquinas Cemetery", also in Moke Hill, just about a half mile from the Moke Hill Cemetery. I stopped by there for a quick glance around, but I was hot, tired & out of water!
Let me know what you find & I'll try to help out.

|Nancy Meadows||RE: Photo request|
I'm glad I could help! I live a couple hours away but was in the area hunting for an old, abandoned family cemetery and decided to photograph all of this church cemetery when I found myself with some extra time. I'm working on a listing for it now and then will be adding the missing memorials to findagrave, so if you're looking for other family members from around there, they may be there, too. The cemetery is on a blacktop road about a mile from the major north-south highway, so it IS rural, but very accessible! It is mowed fairly often, and when I was there a few weeks ago, looked very nice. Your Stouts are buried in the very back corner in a lovely, peaceful spot.

|Larry & Susan M.||Union Hill Cemetery|
The Union Hill we were looking for is in Howell County and find a grave says it is in Brandsville which is on Hwy 63. It has to be a fairly large cemetery it says there are 281 burials and I saw one as recent as 2010, but I couldn't find directions for it anywhere and there are really no businesses in Brandsville to ask at the population was only a little over 100.

I am sorry we tried to fullfil you request today, but we could not find the cemetery. There are no directions on find a grave or on the internet that I could find. We were hoping there was a sign on the highway or someplace we could stop and ask for directions, but there was neither.

Timothy Purk does have a memorial and photo already at Irving cemetery... he did have a son named Robert (unknown middle name or dates)..wonder if this could be him??
I will go ahead and make a memorial for Robert, then add info once you post the photo..who knows, if they arent related someone else can surely use it at some time, but I bet this is who it is...
