You placed a Tablets of the missing photo at Honolulu Memorial on the wrong William L Larson entry...it should be moved to 108883200. You have your photo on the navy man...not the marine. Thanks!

David Blewster Knight
Isabel D. Friel
Regarding her Month & Year of Birth:

The 1900 Federal Census, as pertains to Honolulu, provides a good snapshot of the Edward B. Friel family:

Edward B. Friel, head of household, born Sep 1850, in Hawaii.
Isabella D. Friel, wife, born Oct 1850, in New York.
James L. Friel, son, born Mar 1882, in Hawaii.
Henrietta C. Friel, daughter, born May 1887, in Hawaii.
Georgiana M. Friel, daughter, born Jul 1890, in Hawaii.

Obviously our census is not perfect but this information looks pretty good. I'll leave this one with you. I have no connection to this family. Thanks, David.

Kuliouou Cemetery
Hello Russell

Have you ever heard of a Kuliouou Hawaiian Cemetery in Kuliouou Valley. No one seems to know where this Cemetery is.

YouTube video of King St Catholic Cemetery
Russell,

I noticed that you uploaded the photos of the King Street Catholic Cemetery. That is why I am emailing you.

I came across a very interesting YouTube video of King Street Catholic Cemetery. It is 27 minutes long and was uploaded by "Mista Bumpy". I tried sending Mista an email but was unsuccessful. I wanted to ask him for permission to link to his video. I think that a link to the video on the Find-A-Grave King Street Catholic Cemetery page would be appreciated by those who are interested in the King Street Catholic Cemetery. When I did a Google search using "Catholic Cemetery, Honolulu. - YouTube" it was the first item on the web addresses returned. I'm not sure if links to YouTube videos require permission or not.

Just passing this info along in case you want to update the King Street Catholic Cemetery page with the link to the YouTube video.

Aloha, Charles Tarnay

Debera Garcia
Hi Russell
I had my grandfather as buried at St. Joseph's Cemetery, but on his obituary it says Waipahu Catholic Cemetery is it both the same? Someone sent me a photo of the same picture with the gate out front and told me they saw my grandfather's grave there, but they forgot the lot #. I asked for a photo before, but they said they couldn't find one. His name is "Ricardo Garcia".

Thanks,

Debera

St Joseph's Catholic Cemetery
Aloha,

Im in the process of posting names from when I was last visiting; approx 68 at this time. I am almost 1/2 done and am reaching out to anyone in the area that can take photos of all the ones Im posting.

Feel free to take on this challenge, as you know this cemetery is unkept and possibly locked up now.

RE: Aiea Cemetery
Going on memory from so long ago when I posted the original listings. I did not have a plot map. Just walked around making notes. I did find, later on, a listing of what should have been there before the government bought the land and paved Kam highway through the middle of it. The cemetery originally went down to the water from what I could tell. The graves were supposed to be moved but I could never find where they were moved to. I did at one time find a pile of headstones half buried in the brush but was not able to find any more answers. I sent some letters to the state about the condition of the cemetery at the time, all over grown and people parking there during football games. The letters were never answered and finally the cemetery was cleared and blocked from parking. I was not able to complete the full cemetery before moving away so I'm glad to see it has been added to. I was leaving the stones in Japanese for a friend of mine who was going to help me translate but she moved before we could do that.
thank you,
mslomilomi

RE: Pearl City Cemetery
Hi There,
You're right. The correct cemetery is Sunset Memorial in Pearl City. I added her burial under Pearl City Cemetery until I could go back to my records to confirm. Do you have any information about this cemetery? I visited a few years back and was unable to locate Emily's headstone. My understanding is that a road was built over a portion of it and the owners didn't maintain records.

Thanks,
Christy

Hi Russell,

You took a very interesting picture at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific. I was wondering if I could copy that picture and any other picture/info you have posted on findagrave. I'd like to post them on my ancestry family tree. Would that be okay?

The person who's my relative is Find A Grave Memorial# 72585234, Isabella A Sirianni.

I do understand about the copyright permission and respect that. I will, of course, name you as the photographer. You have spent a lot of time and money doing this service for others. I appreciate it. I always ask copyright permission on findagrave and it takes a lot of organization to keep track of those I've asked. I consider the relatives on my family tree very special and the more I can find out about their lives, the better.

Thanks a lot and have a great day!!

Susie

Loch View Cemetery
Some more photos of the Cemetery

http://www.flickr.com/photos/tutubonnie/sets/72157606548234699/

Gives a little of the history. Both are the same cemetery.

It should be noted that it is not "Lock View" but "Loch View", I have the 1913 Death Certificate of Henry Watson and it is spelled "Loch View Cemetery" both A and B are spelled wrong. Also check Antone Silva in Lock View B #54601399 as the same as A #5407623

For your info.

ps I don't know if Henry Silva was reburied somewhere else or not. I have not been able to determine that so far.

Lock View Cemetery A and B
These two cemeteries are the same. I created a memorial for Henry Watson sometime ago in Lock view A but did not create the Cemetery, I believe that Charles Ano did so. He also has Silva Family buried there but there is no relationship to my Silva Family.

This will take you to Lock View A
http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GScid=456052&GRid=5653558&

I don't know who created both cemeteries but this is to let you know that they are duplicates.

For your information and disposition.

Best Regards
B

Question
Can you tell me which cemetery you took the picture of Bruce David Merritt? National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific OR Honolulu Memorial? There is a find a grave memorial listed under both and I am now the "owner" of them both and want to delete the incorrect memorial. The picture you posted (showing it to be in the ground) is under the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, and I want to make sure that is where he is. Please help me to figure out which cemetery he is in! Thank you for all your help!

I can't thank you enough for this photo!! I came across it while researching my family at the Mocavo site.
'Nicky' was my mother's favorite cousin and she talked about him all her life. I knew his name was on a memorial in Honolulu, but this is the first time I've actually got to see it.
I am glad to know that he---along with so many others of his generation--- will be recognized and remembered for his bravery and sacrifice. I know my mother would be VERY happy as well. Many thanks again!!
