RE: Luis Arreola
I don't know the answer to your question about old cemeteries in the North Kohala area.

However, you might want to check this site to review information about "The Tombstone Transcription Project." http://www.usgwtombstones.org/hawaii/hawaii.html

As you will see, there are many Big Island cemeteries listed, several of which are in N. Kohala. I notice that Geoff Stafford has done considerable work on this project and he might be able to answer your question about N. Kohala cemeteries.

I continue to believe that your best approach is to first obtain a copy of the death certificate, which may indicate the name of the cemetery where your grandfather is buried. Once you have the name of that cemetery you will be in a much better position to ask someone like Stafford if that particular cemetery has been surveyed, and, if so, does your grandfather's name appear in the survey. Good luck. dbk

Luis Arreola
A partial Hawaii Dept of Health death index, located in the Hawaii State Library, indicates that a Luis Arreola died 13 September 1928, in North Kohala [Big Island/Hawaii Island]. The index refers to a death certificate, Reg. No. 1225, Vol. 145. As a relative, you might wish to communicate with the Dept of Health about obtaining a copy of the death certificate, and perhaps learning further details about Luis Arreola's burial. The Dept of Health has an on-line site which provides instructions about requesting and purchasing such certificates. Good Luck. dbk.
