Cyndi, I noticed you have Virginia Lorene Swift listed as James F. Swift's spouse. That is actually his daughter.

Carol
Arty Raines
Good evening, would you be so kind as to correct Arty's maiden name to Peer? She is the daughter of William C. Peer and Isabel Hull.

Obituary from Shelby County Herald

Artimissie (Peer) Raines was born June 10, 1842, in Richland County, Ill.; departed this life May 3, 1922 at her home in Kansas City, from the effects of a paralytic stroke. She was married to Dr. Wm. F. Raines in the spring of 1860, who preceded her to the grave about 6 years ago. Grandmother came to Missouri in the year of 1882, lived east of Bethel for a number of years. She then made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Delia Pope, near Emden, having left here about 9 years ago; lived with her daughter mentioned about 8 years. She was the mother of ten children, one dying in childhood. Nine survive her, as follows: Mrs. Delia Pope, Emden, Mo.; Oscar, Andrew, James, Dr. William H., Commodore, Mrs. Stella Jewett, Mrs. Nora Sutton, all of Kansas City. She also raised one grandchild to young womanhood, who seemed like an own child. Grandmother was loyal to friends, her tenderness and thoughfulness for her family, these were the virtues that we loved and traits of character that we excited. She was loved by all that knew her and bore her sickness patietly. She was conscious nearly until death claimed her. All of the children were present except Oscar Raines of Kansas City, Mrs. Delia Pope, Mrs. Flora Bonnell of Missouri. she also leaves to mourn her death 21 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Grandmother united with the Methodist church when a young woman and has been a christian ever since. She was a great lover of the Bible and would always read the Bible every spare moment.
Dearest grandmother, thous hast left us for the bright eternal shore, Where there'll be no tears nor sorrow and no sickness any more. Pearl

Ruth Smith
Nathaniel Smock
Thanks for helping on this one - the Missouri Digital Heritage has his death certificate and birth was given abt. July 1831 so I added that. He died of pneumonia and was buried in the "city cemetery" which would have been Fairmount. I cannot link his son Albert Smock 1870-1911 who it looks like died just a month after his father. So would you like for me to transfer Nathaniel Smock to you? I would be glad to do that - they are not related to me and I am just trying to update the records in both city cemeteries. Ruth

William N Weston
Hi Cyndi,
While perusing F-A-G for Weston relatives on my husband's side, I noticed for William N Weston, 1908-1952, #103474305, he has a son listed, same name, #99610267, with DOB of 1913-1954. Do you have any other info for the son that might have the correct info?

Thanks for your help.

Chaucy Morris #99021444
Hey, Cindy - I was making a list of photos I want to get at Riverside and searching the counties data base for the cemeteries. They have Mr. Morris' name listed as Chaucy - and you have it listed at Chauncey. Which do you think is correct? Perhaps his gravestone will tell the true tale for both of us. I plan to go take a picture soon and will post it ... and MAYBE we'll know. I have been researching many burial records for Riverside and sadly, there are MANY errors listed on the city/cty website in burial records there ... and like you, I am a stickler for detail. I see that you have Mr. Morris' obit (Bravo, dear lady) ... but I guess that we should see what the marker says, IF I CAN FIND IT. SADLY, Riverside is in HORRIBLE condition, and many of the graves are almost completely covered by grass overgrowth. I plan to call the city about it Monday. It is SAD, SAD, SAD! God bless!

Nathaniel Smock
Hello - it seems you and I both have a memorial page for Nathaniel Smock buried here in CApe Girardeau.
Mine is at Fairmount Cemetery and yours is at Cape County Memorial Park. The reason I put him on the Fairmount one is he is listed on their official records and is buried in the old section of that cemetery but does not have a monument. So I took a picture of the general area for the old section. Mr. Weaver, the superintendent of the city cemeteries, put all the burials for Fairmount, New Lorimier and Old Lorimier on the computer and they are easy to access. it has been a tremendous help. Records for Cape County Memorial is not that easy to get. I have made lots of trips over the the Archives in Jackson to look of burials there.
So what do you think we should do? Where did you get your information? Thanks for your help. Ruth

RE: Eliza Jane Craun Roush
Thank you for the quick response! I am related on the Roush side. I do have the obituary of Eliza's daughter Barbara Anna, and that may be of interest to you. The next couple of days are really busy, so I will try to send it along early next week.

Good luck with your hand!

Eliza Craun
That is a wonderful photo that you have posted on the memorial for Eliza J Craun, #54162948. By chance do you have more biographical information for her? My research indicates that she married Jacob Roush and had two daughters. Would you have anything that confirms or discredits that conclusion?

Thank you in advance for any help you might be able to offer.

Best wishes.

RE: Are you still active?
Spending most of my genealogy research time on my website at http://concordia-memories.org/. I only post on Find A Grave if I have a tombstone photo. Since I don't live in or near the Concordia, MO area, haven't had the opportunity to take any photos.
